so dynasty warriors extreme legends 7 is like a remastered version of dynasty warrior 7 please forgive me if i don't know I've never played one of the XL games

Not exactly. From what I know from only seeing the dynasty warriors 7 XL it adds new characters, weapons and levels. The thing is that extreme legends doesn't come with what the regular game of dynasty warriors does, it's just an add-on so if you only have dynasty warriors 7 extreme legends yoy don't get story mode or conquest mode but if you have the main game you can add extreme legends on it so you can play the story mode with the XL weapons and the characters who are usually generics without XL but are playable in XL are no longer genric and have new lines. The only example of this is Dynasty Warriors 7 is Guo Jia
