Sun Jian would fight to protect his family name. And Sun Ce would be like " YAAAHOOOO BATTLE". MAAAYYYBBBBE not the best two to look into for perspective. Also "WE WILL JOIN FORCES TO FIGHT CAO CAO, ONLY TO ALLY WITH HIM LIKE 3 BATTLES LATER. THEN FIGHT HIM AGAIN."

@@artofthepossible7329 Also, while Wu technically won at Ruxukou, Cao Cao had Xiahou Dun place himself in a fort right next to that fortress with a fuckton of soldiers, basically blockading Sun Quan, so Sun Quan had no choice other than to surren to Cao Cao. When Cao Cao asked him for help at Fan Castle, Sun Quan hesitated until Guan Yu raided his supply depot, from that moment on Guan Yu deserved it.
