I'm hoping they kept the previoys Zhang Fei, Yue Jin, Xiahou Yuan, Li Dian, Zhou Tai, etc weapon movesets for backups in case people want to go back to them. Also, it creates more viable custom characters too.

@@Areczek1510 Same with yu jin's spear. His moveset on 8 was so unique because he has 3 elements and once you get those 3 element orb stacks, he unleashes a powerful move. One of the reasons why I would play yujin. Now his moveset in 9 is boring lol I also miss old dw8xl moveset wen yang, zhonghui, and sun quan. Sun quan's flame sword was so fun to play with. With all these clone weapons, I'd rather stick with zhong hui's op dw9 moveset since most of them aren't as fun anymore and at that point, i might as well do damage instead of doing any fancy combos. Hopefully they dont nerf it

'Sigh' pour one out for the 30 or 40 characters that still have clone weapons. And the massive step back from dw8 which saw ALL characters having original weapons and move sets. Like I said before, who cares if your character creation is much better for appearance options....when there's a fraction of the weapon and game play choices of your previous titles :/ I'll stick with DW8 Empires, thanks. I really don't even care at this point if Koei and DW sink over this. They were way too obvious with their nonsense and how they viewed their fan base as repeatedly milkable braindead cash cows. "Hey, let's take 70 percent of the cast, and turn them to clone characters while stating, 'were trying to move away from unrealistic weapons,' while keeping flipping magic fans in the game! And then sell it aaaaaaaaall back to our braindead fan base as dlc! Genius!" Guess they weren't unrealistic enough to sell back as dlc! Yeah, they were a little too obvious with their pi$$ing on us and calling it rain here.....

Seriously though, eff Koei. I can't begin to express how angry I was while watching you scroll through and show how many characters have lost their original weapons and been turned to clone characters..... It's so upsetting, because I used to love this franchise. But ever since DW9, I can't begin to express how much I DESPISE Koei after what they blatantly did there, while clearly showing how braindead they thought their fanbase was. I came back to this game, looking for hope. Only to clearly see, Koei are still the cheap, @$$holes they were back when they started with dw9. Koei......I sincerely hope you sink for this.

For real you all speak sense I miss the old days of everyone having a unique weapon and basic move sets made the game enjoyable. I’ve loved playing Dw series for a long time even back to dw2 but it’s slowly gone done hill, started to lost hope in dw6 when characters were missing weapons changes, renbu build up (and when they removed gan nings pirate sword that broke me 😭💔) but alas I will still try every Dw game and be saddened each time it gets worse. I love seeing new characters come into the game and seeing what moves set they have and how interesting there weapons would look like, what unique musou they would have, going back to Dw3,4,5 gan Ning running around at max speed attack up musou for 10 seconds=literally death. Ahh the good old days at least we got to enjoy them to some extent dynasty warriors isn’t the same anymore and everyone knows it 🪦😔

Some of them got decloned using the DLC weapons released for them back in the base DW9 season pass, but only showcased in this gallery screen instead of gameplay... I see what you did there, Koei... I see it all to well. If that is how you skip the "extreme legend" expansion for the base DW9 by using season passes and DLCs then jump straight to DW9 empires... people won't be very happy, Koei. We or I notice the direction you are taking there. Funny, the more I look at DW9 and put two and two... It really reminds me of DW7 in terms of it's cloning and weapon variety/sets. Still, i praise their late efforts a lot of the time... But they still questionable at times.

Look at all those clones. Everytime they make a major change they fucked up, they done everything right in DW8 why not just keep everybody weapon and make upgrade for clothes/graphics only ?. This is like DW5 to DW6 all over again, i hope they realize that they did it wrong and maybe DW10 or DW11 will fix all of this mess.

Hell if the fandom don't jump ship cause this is just SAD! I personally went from DW3 → DW7/XL → DW8/XL → DW8 Definitive Edition (Switch). It was amazing see how the improved until DW9 appeared and ever since it's been downhill over and over. I honestly feel like they will make the old weapons DLC to make money off of us. Hopefully they have unique movesets, music is phenomenal, and graphics are 21K 😂.

I'll always be disappointed with how dw9 was handled, everyone became generic copying weapons and the combat got downgraded to be even more repetitive.

I think it works fine long term though. If they're planning to make everyone unique again in DW10, he can keep it, Guan Suo can go back to the sabtons he had in DW8:E and Ling Tong can keep the nunchaku he originally had!

@@Razzspoons Yeah that would make since I didn’t like the idea of DW8 giving Guan Suo the Og Nunchaku just to give him a completely different weapon in DW8E. I just liked Zhu Ran with the Flame Bow and that Staff but the staff is more suited to Zhou Yu, I wish they’d give him a chance with his long sword again. But it could be a cool change Zhu Ran is always fun to play regardless of what they have him with.

Dynasty warriors 8 had all unique I believe. Dw9 was just such a massive step back for the franchise. Almost a death blow, I'd say. At least 30 or 40 of these characters are still freaking clone weapons....

This weapon changes even worse then in DW 6...no projectile weapons, no weapons with some kind of magic, means like Ma Dai's paitings. I really was hope for Empires, so they made different. Different in fightning system, customisation where you can make not only officers, but even make your unique units and horses, means change armour and not just only size and colour of mane. They even made this more porly then in DW8 Empires((

@@BlueQuorthon they've been known to take from more than that piece of propaganda, such as folklore(Bao Saniang for example) and history. I will say this however, Hua Tuo should be for the most part stay Hua Out. My reason for saying that is it'd be hard to make his death into a battle. I agree with some like Bian Shi and Sima Yan, Cao Zhi, Cao Zhen, and Cao Zhang however.

They did; Omega Force added tons of DLC weapons to DW9, many of which were character main weapons from 8. Don't know why they aren't shown off in Empires yet unless they are going to resell them to us again.
