19billdong96 not everyone... i hate jackasses who make dumb assumptions such as this one... the first dynasty warriors I ever played was dw2 but the best one to me will always be dw4 cuz they have no shared movesets and you could power up your warrior past their limits using cool items also the gameplay wasnt slow like in 5 and the voices werent as corny as 3 i like the renbu style in dw6 but the character designs are too cartoonish unlike 5 or 4, 7 is cool cuz of the ost, unique musou attacks, and also being able to carry two weapons at once... 8 is awesome too but i hate those "elements" they added to make it like rock, paper, scissors... just annoying fighting 5 officers and having to constantly change weapons if you have the wrong type you'll get killed in an instant since you will be at a disatvantage in 7 the changing of weapons wasnt neccesary it was just a cool feature being able to carry two weapons

My first ever Dynasty Warriors game is DW6. This came along with a PS3 that I bought while I was on vacation. I played the hell out of it. I sure as hell love it too. Lots of people say it is the weakest of the series (if not for DW9) but if it isn't for DW6, I wouldn't discover the series itself. Also, fun fact: Ever wondered why Zhao Yun is 'hogging up most of these, as other characters are more than capable of taking the reins in them?' It is because of the decision by Omega Force, the developers of Dynasty Warriors. They wanted the series to be action based so they choose Zhao Yun as he is known for his fighting prowess and bravery against a whole slew of mooks. If not for him, the next character that would be designated as the main character is Liu Bei. Akihiro Suzuki, the programmer behind the whole franchise, agrees that he is going to be cast as the poster child of Dynasty Warriors by the fans who read Romance of the Three Kingdoms. However, Liu Bei didn't seem to fit in the active, fighting character that Suzuki wanted. Which got me thinking: What would the game be like if the leader of Shu Han becomes the mascot of DW? Would the fans prefer Liu Bei or Zhao Yun as the main hero of the series? Reply if you can. I'm interested in your thoughts.

DW3 is the best ! because 1.its well balanced showing lots of playable charecters and dosnt focus just on zhou yun or the scenery. 2. they have a song that literally sounds like a complete song from beginning to end. 3. they had Lu Bu.... you ALWAYS need lubu at least SOME WERE in the intro. 4. it showed a variety of attack scenes instead of one long fight scene or one with dancing and standing around like some of the others 5. the song was just epic. the only way they could have made it better was by making it longer and continuing the song

Mine is DW6 But there was one mission that was hard, i dont remember what map that was but once the enemy has lit your whole camp base thing on fire you gather in a very complicated circle mazed shaped wall, and in the middle me as zhao yun, zuan yuan,liu bei, that fat guy and the guy with the fan have to defend the maze from all orange guys ;_; it was so hard but that was so long ago :)

Dw8 Zhao Yun was savage the guy rides the wind alongside a volley of fire arrows, casually murdered Yue Jin, snatch a horse from the sky, defeat and kill Li dian in less than a second and rides a flaming tornado before crashing down to save Sun Shang Xiang and would probably murder Xiahou Dun too given how quick he killed Yue Jin and Li Dian

The baby you see Zhao Yun rescue in the Dynasty Warriors 7 opening is the infant of Liu Shan, the same one who appears later to be Liu Bei's successor in the Shu storyline. He also surrendered to Wei/Jin in 265 A.D. Many Koei fans see him as a bad ruler of Shu, including myself.

The Sima clan overthrew the emperor in 265 A.D. and renamed the Wei country Jin. Jin then finally got Wu to surrender in 280 A.D. I never could get my hands on 1 or 2. Can't find anywhere. Ripperoni for meeeeeee (0/0) 3 I enjoyed quite a bit, but not as much as others. Was difficult, especially with the horse system, but had a fairly enjoyable story with hilarious dubbing which kept me playing for hours. Lu Bu tho. :'D (6/10) 4 is my personal favorite. I loved the story, how you could choose to skip battles and rush through or play battle by battle. You can use any character you unlocked at any time during whichever story you play, or use an edit of your own design. The duel system was an amazing idea that they need to bring back. Only problem is the little soldiers are assholes who never let me on my horse. >: (8.5/10) 5 had a terrible story approach. Didn't like the 'one person' story thing much. While the music was pretty great with a few new added mechanics that weren't in 4, it was... alright. Not my favorite. (5/10) 6 was atrocious with limited select character stories, removed characters, the god forsaken Renbu system, etc. Still liked it to an extent though. Nice designs for everyone and good music, but that's about it. The jump in graphics from 5 to 6 was astonishing, though. (3/10) 7 was AMAZING when it came to story. Most emotional, heartfelt, and drew you in. You get attached to every character that shows on screen. Didn't like the repeated weapons, though. The 'concrete' character per battle was a nice touch, however. Also yay, Jin. (7.5/10) 8 had the best battle system hands down. The hypothetical routes and historical routes gave this game an entirely new approach to the series. Either go historically or down a 'what if' path, I thought it was a fantastic touch and they should do more things like this in the future. Pls Koei. (7.5/10) 9 ain't out yet, calm your tits. But it looks fucking amazing from what we've seen so far. Them grAPHICS mMMM... (0/0)

My favorite opening is DW5XL due to the music, sense of being in trouble, then getting rescued by an ally, bridge/building destruction, and running straight down a cliff. Although DW8 and DW7 main series openings are good too.

In all the Dynasty Warriors Game than I played..Dynasty Warriors 7 is one of the best game than KOEI could maded, the Story of the 3 Kingdowns, and the Jin Story, the drama and gameplay, and the cutscenes and the story itself of every characther it's really well made, and just like the original story.. Dynasty Warriors 8 it's a really good made game, I still playing it, but I don't like it, at all, the part of how the story is made, like on Shu, to meet Zhuge Liang, it something..."Strange" if that's the word.. I loved it more when it was on DW7, like the story said "Lui Bei came to Zhuge Liang's place and visit him Three times to have a audience with him" Man that part I just love it

I recommend trying the newer games. If you have a PS3, try Dynasty Warriors 7 or 8. If you have a PS4, be sure to pick up Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends: Complete Edition on March 25. (Assuming you live in North or South America.)
