I'm curious about the sound difference between Contour 20 and 20i

Lovely speakers and the piano black looks fantastic. Maybe some more more perhaps a Hegel or Musical Fidelity will really make these sing as the Lyngdorf's are a bit under-powered.

The Evoke has the Cerotar-tweeter, not the Esotar3. Thank you for making the video, those are some great speakers! :)

Does the contour 20 bolts straight to stand 6 or does it require a adapter plates?
@chestermango12014 жыл бұрын
A Dynaudio adaptor plate is required for the stand 6. With the adaptor plate the speakers bolt into the stands

@@chestermango1201 so they are ok for your room size?
@chestermango12014 жыл бұрын
@@user-mo9mt6yu8y Yes. The speakers are a good match for my room size and provide enough base. I think the Contour 30's would overpower my room.
@user-mo9mt6yu8y4 жыл бұрын
@@chestermango1201 no no i thought that these will owerpower your room, but looks like they are perfect for 20square meters

I have watched some of your tutorial videos before and help a lot doing the arc calibration for anthem.So thank you very much for that. Im also like you who like to buy stuff like speakers even i already have a few pairs. I guess the wow factor is addictive. Stereophile did a review of these contour 20 and so other reviewers,they concluded that this sound boring,not dynamic speakers.Whats your take on that? I do have these on my radar so I would like to know. Again thank you.

I think it really depends on the room they are in. My old place was a little cramped and carpeted. When I did not have room correction on the speakers sounded very neutral, which I guess can also be taken as "boring" by some. In my new space with higher ceilings and hardwood floors the speakers really came alive. Interesting with room calibration the speakers sounded brighter. With my old Paradigm Signature S6 speakers room calibration did not really affect the highs. Over the long term I prefer a neutral speaker. I feel speakers with to much character always makes me want to try something else. Buying speakers all the time is really expensive so I am am glad the Contour 20's has satisfied my current needs. Since the speakers are very neutral I am not really sure if they would be a good fit with tube amps. They also need a fair bit of power.

TheSaintOfSundby I agree with you. I went and bought the 20 and own it for a month and replaced it with a special 40.

Don't ruin those gorgeous speaker by EQ'ing them !! Thats what makes the dynaudio go great. Is that the crossovers are voiced/EQ'ed. By you room EQ ing them you are making this exceptional speaker sound like every other flat eq'ed speaker out there. You just ruined them. Don't do that. Its that fact that there not flat, that makes them so special !!

I don't agree with your premise regarding EQ. Before judging Lyngdorf EQ I suggest listing to the Lyngdorf Room Perfect. To me it has made a huge positive difference. Not all EQ's are alike but I believe Lyngdorf has one of the best.
