Hello Sir, The KLH Kendall, another well priced tower speaker, has been receiving excellent reviews in the US. KLH is one of those classic American brands that is currently experiencing a revival. Being from a certain Cambridge (US) lineage and developed by Mr Kloss, it's 1970s speakers were in some ways comparable to the British BBC sound. I hope you put these speakers on your listening list and help us with a review. Again, many thanks for your outstanding podcasts! (BTW the speakers look very nice with the walnut veneer.)

What's the difference between them for the Evoke 10 and 20? I saw that the new Emit uses the same tweeter as the Evoke. I saw some recommending the Emit 10 and 30. But they didn't like the Emit 20 so much. Mostrar menos

Thanks for the review. I'm listening to the Emits 30 with a Cambridge CXA81 in an 18m2 room. What I want to say is firstly, the CXA81 has enough power to drive them. Usually the volume level is 9-10. At 12 (50% power) it becomes uncomfortable, the walls shake. I was shocked at how much low frequencies they could produce. I like the tonal balance, very clear and detailed sound, I would say warm, when the music is bright they sound bright but not fatiguing. The speakers sound even better at higher volumes, and overall I think it's a good combination. Placement is important due to low frequencies

How far from the rear wall have you placed your speakers and are you using the port bungs or not ?. Thank you
@_Dessel Жыл бұрын
20 cm from the wall, i don't use the port bungs but am thinking to try. Jazz and blues sound very nice, but electronic music where is alot of bass sometimes the bass dominates. @@martinmbokazi8372

I always had stand mount speakers until a decade ago when I purchased some Focal floorstanders . They certainly give a greater presence than moderately priced & well reviewed stand mounts. I've upgraded my budget system Marantz PM6005 amplifier speakers to Mission QX2 Mk 2 stand mounts - incredibly well made for £349 speakers with surprising bass & clarity albeit less forward sound than say new B&W 👍

Hi. Looking for a small floor stander. Do you think these or the Dali Oberon 5s would be a good match for Arcam sa20?
@Romulus9802 жыл бұрын
Interesting review. Will you do a youtube video playing music via the speakers? Also a BIG WELL DONE for using the correct English by saying "I was just sitting there" instead of 'I was just sat there' as the majority of UK presenters will unfortunately say on media. You should receive a grammar OBE award...!
@PursuitPerfectSystem2 жыл бұрын
Normally grammar is not my strong point so its great that I pronounced something correctly 😀. I know sound demos have traditionally been a big thing for this channel but they are extremely time consuming to do. I have been so busy this year because I had a very late start due to my room removations that I have not been producing the sound demo videos. Instead I have been out shooting videos and meeting companies and doing a lot of sound comparative listening to improve my review quality. Its hard, really hard to do it all and I have prioritised what I felt was most important

I’ve noticed that the tweeter height between the emit30 and emit50 is pretty big. The emit50 sits almost 10” higher then the 30. I want the emit 50 but it seems like the tweeter would be above my ear. What are your thoughts?

Nice review. Thanks. I am thinking about buying those speakers, but still wondering which amp could better match with them. In my list I have 3 different amps : Atoll IN100 SE (but not sure if power is enough and if the speaker would sound good. But cheaper than the 2 other), NAD C388 and Roksan Kandy 3 V2. I would be very pleased to have advice/comments on that amp choice.

Just bought a pair of these after listening in a demo room. They do sound really good. These are the first pair of speakers I have bought in 10 years and was interested to note that there is no bi-wiring. Is there a reason or is tge trend nowadays ro move away from this?
@GBO76 Жыл бұрын
Probably due to the construction. The two woofers are working together and separately, depending on the frequency range. I'm pretty sure bi-wiring, on these speakers would add more problems than improving the sound quality. Nice choice btw, those are really surprising speakers.

Do you think a pair of t5x would go well with these? I would like to buy a T7 x but the price jump is massive. It would purely be for music listening in 2 channel. Also would a high current 80W per channel monoblocks be enough to drive there at reasonable levels?

Simply because there are very few prying eyes looking. That includes almost all reviewers, since manufacturers tend to not send any product to them when they misbehave (tell the truth).
