I just bought a 1990 supra stock auto no turbo with the inline 6 for 2500$ is this car worth moding it to about 500whp???

+Gage Rice The car is heavy, not much power, and an inefficient motor. (204hp for a 3l N/A). But for 2500 bucks, if everything runs fine, you got yourself a good deal. But beware, when modding, be sure to get a reinforced headgasket as the stock one is not really reliable. And be sure to check the oil flow. The 7M-GE's oil stock oil pump is known to not flow enough oil to the motor. Get your motor checked by a specialist before starting to mod. Power it, then make it lighter and you'll have a tremendously fun beast.

Andy Your stock headgasket is fine if you keep it na :) Just tighten up your bolts to 100nm! And check the vales. The enghine probably needs new valve stem seals. 7mge are pretty reliable compared to 7mgte's. Especially if they had proper maintenance. If you want more power, go jz + r154. Dont tune your 7mge or buy a 7mgte, it's just a waste of money/time. Oh, and the supra is a great platforum for tuning. The chasis is awesome because of the wishbone/multi link setup. Diff's are very strong. It has great aftermarket support if you swap in a jz engine.
