As a lighter rider, I'm content with my GT (when it works), but this is the type of transparency I value in a company. Give me actual data, not just fancy graphs and buzz words (pun not intended). While I don't own a Floatwheel, it is most definitely on my radar. Keep up the great work Tony and team, it is appreciated! 🤙🏼

The type of transparency that you can get with other companies is a bar chart that shows a voltage increase from 75V to 113V (50% increase) but the relative size of the bars makes it visually appear as if the increase is 100%. I prefer companies that just play it straight without embellishments, but those companies are few and far between. Trust is something companies need to earn from their customers.

lemme see what I can do, the superflux is a good motor, but it's too heavy for my like, and there's no ESC That's powerful enough to feed it full rightnow, If fed with good power, I'm not surprised that superflux will be more powerful than CC, think of the CC as a BMW s65 v8, small displacement light, just enough power for the chassis, and the superflux as amg c63 which is big displacement, heavy and came with more power! Can't go wrong with both.

Yes, definently, it is the easiest platform to do it on, the only "thing" that needs a little more attention is that you need to replace the BMS with pretty much any other BMS On the XR you can (if you keep the stock battery) reuse your FM BMS I'm not 100% sure, but selling your GT BMS probably will give you enough money to buy a high end BMS that is suitable (enoid v3 seems like a good choice)

The real answer is that the vesc won't shut off on you for holding max torque, it lets you do it till something heats up enough, which will trigger a tilt back, then eventually an output reducer. The is similar to how the xr operates, you can hold torque on that for as long as you want within reason.

Hey Tony - very interesting and useful test apparatus that you came up with. However, I disagree a little with your methodology. I would say the disc brake device that you built is comparable to the steepness of a hill. And the portion of your weight that you are able to exert on the board is the rider weight. So let's say that you are able to apply 80 lbs. of force down on the board with your upper body, then your test method is equivalent to testing an 80 lb. rider going up a very steep hill. You can see this in your first dynamic run test on the GT - it maxed out at a speed of 10.8 km/hr (6.7 mph). Everyone knows that the GT can go much faster than that. I believe a more relevant test would have you dial back the brake load a lot (to like equivalent to a flat paved road). Then you would stand on the board and start the test ride - even better if you can find a 180 lb. test rider. Get the wheel speed up to a cruising speed of something like 24 km/hr (15 mph). Then you slowly increase the brake load (steepness of the hill) while the test rider keeps leaning forward to maintain the same speed, and see at what brake load (hill steepness) the board nosedives. I realize this test is a little less safe with you or the test rider standing on the board, but your apparatus is not elevated much and you are not moving, so it is not too bad - a no speed nosedive! You say you plan to do more testing and get more comprehensive data to generate curves. If you can do this alternate test procedure, it will be more relevant to what riders actually do with their boards. You could run this test at a few different ride speeds. I'm sure regardless of test method, your ADV will still be better than the GT-S and GT, however the ratios/spreads may shift somewhat with the alternate test methodology. What do you think?
@floatwheel Жыл бұрын
sweeping dyno load test is recommend by Robert from TFL and I fully agree with, but like I said, it has nothing to do with how much weight I excert on the board, it might be anti-instinct, but as long as the tire don't spin off, and the motor is properly having load on it, the results are comparable.
