I'm excited to get this for my 98 12v. Supposedly has 50 hp injectors as well, so a turbo upgrade will be needed for sure as it's a stock hx35.

mine has 150s and stock turbo eeekk lol. def need a turbo but egt gauge doesn't work so idk. might get this in the meantime so I can control EGTs better

I have a 96 5.9 freightliner fl60, bone stock with 4 inch s/pipe... I'd like to get 325_630 similar to my 06 5.9. But I use this to make a living pulling 5-15k. Every mpg counts. I'm in no hurry but damn sure get sick of kicking the flashers on in the Pacific northwest passes. I'd like to keep egts 1150 tops. Longevity is key. Any ideas? This afc live all I need? Or this with the 350hp kit? I'm confused. Does it negate the 350 kit ?

If the stock transmission is healthy, it will take it no problem. Usually the first component that slips and fails in the automatic is the lockup clutch on the torque converter, then the 2nd gear band, then 3rd gear direct clutches, then overdrive clutch, and last two to fail is the forward clutch pack and the low/reverse band. However, a slipping lockup clutch in the converter will make debris over time, leading to a plugged filter if transmission services are missed or if excessive slipping occurring and the driver stays in the throttle for too long.

I had a 94 manual trans model and with no fuel plate and 3000 rpm gov springs it made 314 hp. You should see an even bigger jump in power if you did AFC Live + gsk. I know my truck really woke up when I did the springs. But every dyno and every truck is different.

Unfortunately the 160 pump is a huge bottleneck for any fueling upgrades, in most cases that is. Also the 47RH seems less efficient at power transfer versus the 47RE, from what I have seen.

Yup, afc deletes the fuel plate and control all the boost fueling.

I’ve got a bone stock ‘97 with the 47re tranny. I’ve been thinking of getting the AFC Live and doing the injectors and DV’s, but I’m worried that the trans can’t take the power. Any recommendations on what it would need to take the power?

on my 3rd 47re, current one was built by ATS diesel,,, its about to come out for a spicer 3053a swap... sorry man if you tow heavy and want power, dodge didnt ever offer a suitable transmission for the job.. gotta step up to the medium truck duty parts.

@@loganvanburen4349 correct, that is what it was originally made for. I have a deep cut pin and a loose spring in the boost pressure compensator so my truck blows black smoke on acceleration. If I install the AFC live in between the intake manifold and the boost pressure compensator It will either reduce or delay the boost getting to the compensator so it cuts back on the fuel and bring it back to near stock performance. Why wouldn't it work?

How comparable is afc lives amount of fuel to say a ground fuel plate or no fuel plate at all?

AFC live with the "Max travel kit" is capable of way more fuel much faster than deleting the fuel plate. Without the modifications to the AFC this will actually rob your engine of power because it will restrict the signal to the AFC

Jace Shipp it's better with their max travel spring kit. Fuel plate only gives you one fueling profile. Basically you get what you get with a fuel plate. They're controlling the input boost pressure to the pump through a box with an adjustable knob so you have infinite control of fueling. It doesn't effect low boost fueling as this is done by a preboost screw on the pump. It's as close as a 12 valve is going to get to having a tuner.... Unless they come up with a way to change static timing on the fly 😉

If you’re still wondering, I’ll take a stab at this. 94-95 auto trans = 160hp 94-95 manual trans = 175 hp 96-98 auto trans = 180 hp 96-98 manual trans = 215 hp You can also look at the data plate on the rim of the timing case at the front of the engine. There should be a line that says “Advertised H.P. XXX”

I had my 98 on a dyno when it was stock and the numbers match, the air box can only be a restriction it is not capable of making power.
