In this video, several different teaching strategies for students with dyscalculia are covered, included types of modifications and accommodations for this learning disability. This learning disability is similar to dyslexia and dysgraphia, however, it is focused on mathematics as opposed to other subjects. It focuses on mathematics teaching strategies and ways that teachers can help these children out in the special education and general education classroom. I am a sped education teacher looking forward to learn more about Dyscalculia so I can help my 10 year old student. This is my goal before the year ends. On the other hand, my student is just fine with computers and social sciences. Focus on what you are able to do and not your limitations. No one is perfect!

Your videos are great. Have you considered making a video on Educating All Students? These strategies are certainly applicable for the writing portion of the test.

I quiet school because of math. I had never had a teacher get self frustrated that she hit my finger with a pencil because I didn’t understand anything. I was doing after that I was embarrassed and I never went back to school. I I am going again Monday through Friday, but I just cannot understand the math. This is so tough for me. It makes me want to give up again.

Who and what kind of test can I get for my kid is in 9th grade. I think he has Dyscalculia certain patterns and math ha to be repeated over and over again and still it's not embedded. It affects him in sports and, but coaches think my kid is not paying attention. Also Students with Dyscalculia can they get extra time to take a math test?? Without sanctions?

can you get him an IEP? it’s a plan for accomodations that you can get if he is diagnosed with anything like autism, adhd, learning disabilities and that kind of stuff. i had one for my adhd and dyscalculia in school and i was allowed more time.

look up IEP and 504 plans because students with learning disabilities can get accommodations like extra time with it
