I enjoyed 2 workshops with Ms. Zecher - they were mind-blowing. Incredible resource, from a true expert in the field.

She will be a keynote speaker at the Orton-Gillingham Association conference April 9-10, 2021! It is 100% worth it to attend Marilyn Zecher's workshops and she does have online video courses to purchase, camps, and a full online course.

Hello! Helping my friend brother with dyslexia, I gave him dyslexia sheets and had a book and told them to use the different colors and see what helped stabilize their reading and what didn’t. For them it was red that helped, blue second, and I think green third. You can find colored overlays on Amazon. After you get the color you want then you can get colored glasses from a place like Zenni that does colored lenses for glasses and use that to focus. Do touch typing to learn to type without having to even think about the keys or look at them as well and using audio books but having the text present and reading them as well to connect the information. Learning about how to help them with algebra as we speak! So when I find how to help then I’ll come back and speak on that part of dyslexia. Hope that helps

So they ended up having a hyper imaginative brain and so they could picture a red overlay in their brain and outside in real life from their brain and it helped them with reading. It’s a thing called hyperphantasia so I’ve been having him to mental exercises as well too get him comfortable using his creativity to help him in everyday life and he was doing good the first day but it gave him a headache so he’s resting but it has helped him read and do what he needs to. Hope this also helps!
