Hi Hooverluxrestorations and everyone else. Was the debris/gunk you removed stopping the counter rotation from working, if so how did you know by cleaning the drum that it would allow the counter rotation to work again please, excellent repair. Great video thankyou.

The contra rotator had been disengaged a long time ago by a Dyson engineer.

Well done! Can you get hold of a tool that would remove the large nut off the back? Did you get the counter rotation mechanism working?

Hi Nicholas, apparently they’re as rare as hens teeth, but a mate of mine had one made for his Dyson machines, still it had to be heated to move it. Fun to work on and gained confidence and a little experience definitely 🤗

Brilliant, you got it working. 👍. Is there nothing you can’t do? Can you tell me/us more about it in the next video? Things like the colours (I thought they were brightly coloured like the vacuums) and the water inlet splitting into 2. Thank you my friend.

Hi, Just been watching you working on the Dyson CR02. Did you manage to get it going? Think I would have replaced bearings and spider shaft. Are parts still available? Never worked on one myself. Thanks? Good luck! Ashby
@HooverLux3 жыл бұрын
Yes and then no 🤣. I’d never worked on one before and I’d never stripped a machine all by myself either. I did the first cycle empty and it worked perfectly, I couldn’t believe it. Then I did the cycle with laundry and it got stuck again after 15 mins or so. I sold one I had untested and I completely gutted the one you saw and have it here in the workshop as a display model only. I love the design.

Great job I never knew Dyson made washers and do they still make them?

Dyson does not still make the washing machines
@theoddjobcentre66864 жыл бұрын
No they stopped making them years ago

They ran from 2000 to 2005. Super expensive and broke down very often, pretty sure dyson ended up losing money making them . Still a quirky machine and pretty fun to have as a collectors item.
@HooverLux4 жыл бұрын
Yes, the two comments said it all. Abandoned by Dyson because of design, still, they are very quirky and wash well, you’ll see next week, maybe? 🤣🤣🤣🤫

Had it been used as a concrete mixer 🤣 you made a great job of cleaning it up 👍 have you seen washing machine drums put on a car wheel and used as a fire pit ?
@HooverLux4 жыл бұрын
I think it had been used for that 🤣. I’ve seen a few fire pits made from old washer drums, my Dad in Ozz has a top loader washer drum as a fire pit in some bricks, as it’s a big drum, it makes a beast of a fire! 🤣🥰

Have both machines been stripped of the contra rotation?
@HooverLux4 жыл бұрын
They had been changed via the control panel, you can’t use them with the back cogs removed. You could also just move some parts from the little engaging motor maybe?

if you can't fix it that means you need to downgrade firmware :( dyson coudn't keep fixing machines so they can contrartotate and they did firmware update to stop peforming contrarotator action

In computing, firmware is a specific class of computer software that provides the low-level control for a device's specific hardware. Firmware, such as the BIOS of a personal computer, may contain basic functions of a device, and may provide hardware abstraction services to higher-level software such as operating systems. For less complex devices, firmware may act as the device's complete operating system, performing all control, monitoring and data manipulation functions. Typical examples of devices containing firmware are embedded systems, home and personal-use appliances, computers, and computer peripherals. Dyson just cut a cable 🤣
