If you just wash the filter with clean cold water once a month and make sure it is completely dry before installing just like the instructions state, it will work perfectly just like my V8 has done for the past 3 years. If it pulses, leave it to dry longer. P.S. never use soap to clean the filters

@justinhu86 жыл бұрын
You need to wash the filter every month or more often if you hoover more often. If you don't, it'll eventually cause the filter to block up completely. It's all plainly laid out in the manual.
@paulmaude13314 жыл бұрын
Just seen this and thank you very informative 👍 However rather ripping it apart on the slots on the outer blue casing I have run a needle through the slots and through the filter to create small holes yet keeping the filter in place.. Still washing this out and every now and again a few more holes...works a treat

The problem isn't the filter in the back. It could be that the pre motor filter is dirty. Pull on the little post on the top of the machine to remove it and wash it under worm water. It could also be a blockage in the intake or dust blocking the holes in the mesh inside the machine. What is happening is that the airflow is being restricted, but not enough to trigger the auto shut off. Adding the rear filter is just pushing it over the edge.
@backofficeshow5 жыл бұрын
Already done that, it was definitely the rear filter. Runs so much better without it.
@ZunarZulfiqar5 жыл бұрын
@@backofficeshow Something else is wrong. That shouldn't happen. Call Dyson. They will help you figure out what happened. They have very good customer service. Those filters are rated for lifetime use. Also, try removing the cyclone assembly and washing it with warm water. Pull up on the red handle on the top of the machine. Once you open it, you will see a large red tab on the cyclone assembly. Press it in and pull it the rest of the way out. Try watching a disassembly video and take it apart to see if there might be dust packed inside the cyclones.

Those rear filters restrict the power when it’s blocked and u can’t use it on max power when u remove it they run fine so get it cleaned properly

backofficeshow Hahahaha! K&N myth busted. Filters provide no extra power in cars. They just protect the engine. Most cars like my BMW M2 already designed to receive the best air flow and protection. A K&N may help a Ford Escort which isn’t really designed for performance. Same principle here. The hepa is just their to help absorb dust you kick up. But they greatly reduce flow. I’m sure it probably does help some. As for protecting the vaccum. I’m sure theirs some sort of paper media and crap inside the vac itself to make sure dust never hits the electronics. We didn’t need that filter. An actual vaccum filter on the other hand I can understand. But not a hepa. That things to not going to clean air as you run it. Takes a lot longer than 30 minutes to exchange air.

Washed mine for the first time, let it dry completely, and now whenever I put it back, it doesn't work anymore. I think what you explained, the fine dust turning into some sort of gunk or something is what has happened. So would've been better off not washing it :/ I'll probs end up getting a replica replacement, and in the meantime remove the filter like you showed! Thanks for this video, very helpful :) And with Dyson, terrible customer service, and also expensive to replace anything. Overall happy with the hoover, have had it working for years and does the job well, though not impressed by the company itself!

I think the robot vacuums from the far East have largely replaced the Dyson in my household. I have a corded upright that occasionally gets taken out for the real jobs. These are just a glorified dustbuster really compared to regular mains units

bro, if you notice that blockage is because the blockage could be placed on the other filter that is on the top of the main body that you have on your hands. check that first before gave unacurate info.

+backofficeshow Rechargeable cleaners at the present time cannot offer the deep clean a mains powered machine does for a continuous about of time. for example, renovating and deep cleaning when moving furniture, a cordless just doesn't cut it. Unless they significantly improve their battery reliability, run time and charging time, then I do not think cordless will completely replace a mains powered model. I work in the industry so can tell you what the customers requires and uses etc. Cordless isn't ideal for all.
@blakaeg6 жыл бұрын
Basically you own an overpriced expensive piece of plastic that has no where the durability of a mains powered SEBO or Miele. The filters are NEEDED to stop fine dust going into the motor from the cyclones that can possibly damage it!! Do remember that the Dyson motor contains a lot of electronics that must be kept clean from fine dust that the cyclones let through, so it's VERY important that the filters are in place. Not to mention long hair that can escape the cyclones and end up in the filter or in the motor if no filter in place!!
@backofficeshow6 жыл бұрын
No that filter is on the exhaust as a HEPA filter. Also calm down, people are allowed to own things you don't wish to own
