Thanks! All the reviewers spew what Dyson write about its own products, as if they were multiple infomercials. Just by reporting the noise you are truly benefiting potential buyers like me. Some may not care, but I am extremely sensitive to those ungodly noises. I truly appreciate your video.

Totally agree with your ‘not recommended’ rating. I had to return 3 units until I got one that didn’t make any noise. Now #4 is also developing that high pitch noise you speak of. I expected a much better experience from Dyson.

I have two of the tall Dyson fans. The reason I love them is not part of your analysis. They have zero visual noise. I use them at night on low, steady direction for a soft gentle breeze all night long. Can't hear them, and don't notice them cause they don't move. Magic. At normal speeds they do not make any buzzing sounds, they just sound like a lot of wind. Well worth the price.

I am all to familiar with that piercing noise! I went through 3 TP09 returns with all doing the same thing. I even tried a TP07 like this one here, developed the exact issue as well. I gave up at that point. Good news though at least with the TP10, the issue does not exist. I have two of them now. First one I have had for 6+ months with no noise issues. The second one I just purchased a couple weeks ago and that one is fine as well. Dyson has definitely done something to remedy this issue at least with the TP10.

I’ve had my pure cool link for 7 years with no issues and no weird high pitch sound. Recently it got wet from a flood and I’m scared to use it, so I’m looking to replace it with the newer version. I still can’t believe the exact same models as this are $200 cheaper but don’t have app/wifi support. Crazy!

Found your video searching for Dyson Silent Fan. Mine developed a high pitch noise soon after getting it. It’s a shame, and will prevent me from buying anything else from Dyson. My Blue Air purifier certainly isn’t silent either though.

This noise will go away. Happened on 2 different purifiers. Haven't bothered to go to replace. Stopped at some point.

I baught a cordless v40 less than a year the battery failed ,and replaced the battery by Dyson and for the price is really disappointing. Make's me wonder how will hold in the future 🤔

Very useful and complete review, thank you! I have always been skeptical about Dyson product quality since I used a vacuum cleaner of theirs. Compared to the Miele I owned (and still use), the Dyson was expensive with a surfeit of plastic. I had hoped their quality would have dramatically improved.

Thanks - am presuming Dyson didn't even comment on the whistling issue, or did they? For those living in the UK and looking for just a good fan I got two Meaco Fan 1056 Air Circulator AKA Meaco MeacoFan 360 Personal Air Circulator Cooling Fan and they've been great but quite bulky and can't put them on narrow window seals hence was looking for a tower design - after this review not from Dyson though!

Had mine for about 3 years and now it’s unusable because of the noises. Not just when it turns but also when it’s still. I mostly just use this during allergy season so it’s not running 24-7 all year and I was hoping to get more years out of this. I’m about to take it apart and see if I can find/grease the problem but really disappointed in this product and Dyson as a company.

That noise is from either a misaligned filter, or you somehow managed to get some internal suction clogged. It sounds more like a whistle. If you have any pets(especially longer hair) this will no doubt cause problems. Plus you're supposed to have it elevated off the ground anywhere from 2.5'-5.0', and at least 18" from any wall or obstruction...unlike yours sitting directly on carpet and in a corner near the walls. It getting bumped continuously won't help it either. It sounds more like a clog or misaligned filter causing that whistle noise

Until you own a dyson product you think it's a quality product. Then you realize that they are far from it. Every single dyson product I owned had annoying issues. Just look at their products in public bathrooms and you'll see. Their marketing department is genious selling you the appearance of quality products but the engineering department can't deliver.

Great Video. Wanted to buy the Air purifier/humidifier combo originally (basically a better model of the pure cool) But reviews of all of these dyson models have been terrible, especially on reddit. Also saw it in a store and it seemed very cheap/ugly for the price.

Save your cash. I had a Dyson TP02 model air purifier and it Errored out on me after 2 years, with minimal use. Warranty is up after 2 years so now Iim stuck having to repair at my own expense. Unacceptable for such an expensive piece of equipment. Look somewhere else. DONT BUY!!!

If you have a proper heating system already. The Dyson hot cool's just use resistive heating to generate the heat which is terribly inefficient compared to most other methods of heating

Dyson is just overpriced and not the best quality and dreo makes good quality smart fans and my dreo smart fan had a software defect and they replaced it and they paid for the shipping and vornado 20 dollar fans have a 3 year warranty and their dc fans have a 10 year warranty and their 30 dollar and up fans have a 5 year warranty and they will pay for the shipping
