The Samurai were some of the highest skilled, best equipped, and wealthy warriors to ever exist. They were legitimately the knights of Japan. In straight up man to man combat very few could face one and live. Yet a type of warrior was formed specifically to fight them, to sneak into their well guarded well fortified homes, and assassinate them without making a sound. One that didn’t have the wealth, support, or armor, yet eventually struck fear in the hearts of the mighty samurai. These warriors used simple farming tools, guerrilla warfare, and countless hours of training to make themselves become one with the shadows of night. They were so successful as a counter to the samurai they out lasted them, all but making them obsolete. Some believe they still exist to this day. By light of day they were the humble farmer, by night they were invisible. These legendary shadows or blurs in the peripheral’s of one’s eyes were known as “those who act in stealth.” They were known as…SHINOBI 🥷🏼

Only they were not always opposing sides. It wasn’t as cut and dry. Many samurai were also shinobi. It wasn’t just a force that fought against the samurai. The samurai leveraged the shinobi a lot of the time to do work that was deemed beneath the samurai code, such as sneaking in at night and killing enemy while they sleep, etc. these things were looked at as coward and beneath, the honor of the samurai, but the samurai had no issue leveraging the Shinobi to carry out these acts. It was not as simple as Shinobi versus samurai just different sides of the same coin that both participated in.

@sukottoshinobe7360: Precisely. People don't look far enough into Shinobi history to know the lines were often blurred between Shinobi and Samurai. There also known shinobi like Hattori Hanzo who served under Tokugawa as samurai. But he did Shinobi'esc missions as well

Of all the music channels on KZbin this resonates with me the most…the ‘alone’ warrior, connected to body, soul ,mind and nature. An ephemeral existence with meaning, far removed from the nothingness of the modern worldview. As a former nurse l know when most are headed…give me the ‘alone’ warrior any day 🙏🌻🐝🦋❤️
