Thanks for the review! I’ve owned this bike for over a year now and it’s taken a beating.

No problem! I think it is a great bike! A bit heavy but still a very enjoyable ride! 👌

@@mcphoney It's madness that you can't remove the battery to make it lighter for putting in the car or carrying up stairs / inside - it's a foldable that's what they're for!?

Never mind the back wheel... ffs!?

So no answers to basic questions and issues; including that the frame is steel not alu? which is why it's (too) heavy in comparison to others? So you got your commission, OK then?

They got you, this bike isn't "type approved" which means even though all the other specs are EU/UK legal having a throttle capable of going over 6kph (3.7 mph) makes it a moped and requires a licence, MOT, insurance, numberplate and all the rest.

You make it sound like a scam with “they got you” Ha ha! Do you not like E-bikes good sir? So after speaking to a LOT of people it’s all very conflicting. Some said “all bikes with a throttle are illegal” Some say “Bikes with the CE sticker, motor size/power clearly labelled etc are legal” The government website states it’s legal as long as the throttle power doesn’t go over 3.7 (like you said). And a lot of them said…everyone takes the risk!! Basically I’ll have to test the throttle speed on this ebike! It is good though! However I have been offered another one…which DEFINITELY requires a licence! I’ll have to have a think about reviewing that one!!! Did you enjoy the video btw?

@@mcphoney I actually REALLY like E-Bikes, Built my 1st one in 2015 and it still works. EAPC rules are pretty straight forward but there's a lot of misinformation out there mostly spread by e-Bike Importers. CE marking just certify that electronics are safe so a CE mark SHOULD mean that the electronic components are safe and certified however I bought a ladder with a CE mark and they provided me with certification documents which are fake as ladders don't have electronic components and it's illegal to put a CE mark on a ladder so I do wonder how many e-Bike CE marks are legal if they don't actually follow the other laws. MANY e-bikes (especially those sold on Amazon) are completely illegal and often don't list things like Motor Wattage, when you ask about them they tell you that technically they are overpowered but they will provide you with a fake sticker, I've even been told that if the police pass you you should turn the motor off (which doesn't make them any less illegal), I've made many enquiries but I got bored of reporting them as they create new listings faster than they remove them. The only legal accelerators are those that are type approved by the DVLA (costs about £200 per bike and they have to come with a DVLA certificate and plate on the bike itself showing it's type approval, you can do this yourself via the DVLA but it costs more and it's a lot of paperwork, also if the bike lies about any of it's specs they will pick up on this and will not approve it making it illegal to use on UK Roads anyway), Walking mode throttles that can't accelerate past 3.73mph and Grandfather Rights (which are bikes manufactured before 2016). No other throttle is legal in the UK. My special interests include e-Bikes, Cameras, Drones, VR and Computers :)
