This is an easy card to bring back all you would need is a simple errata stating "If this card is special summoned using this effect you can only special Blackwing Monsters from the Extra Deck for the rest of the turn"

Gofu didn't have a lot of draw backs when links first started. Taking three extra-deck spots wasn't an issue, because basically every deck was emptying their extra-deck of all the cards they couldn't use in link format. And being a 1-card Decode Talker was pretty huge, because it basically let decks go back to playing in Master Rule 3, while the opponent would be playing in MR4. The reason nobody played him in the TCG after the preemptive limit was because he's usually only live on your first turn, so playing him at 1 was more likely to be a dead draw than a play enabler.

it actually wouldnt break duel links until links, not even synchros, because the tokens cant be used as synchro materials, so you completly clog your field, which is neat for a 1-card defense, but you cant do anything else in your monster card zone after that.

Not Link Spider, Proxy Dragon the tokens and then go into Decode. It was good because back when they first game out, Links were nuisance and the idea was to get 2 spots open for extra deck monster.

That's part of the suggested errata. Make it so the tokens can be used as Syncro material for Blackwings, but nothing else. Helps Blackwings and takes away the degeneracy with link climbing.

I know what you're trying to say, but the wording you used would just make Gofu better than it already is. The phrasing "can only be used for the synchro summon of a Blackwing monster" means that the tokens can only used for a synchro monster when it's a Blackwing. Links would still be fair game.

I already mentiones this in one comment, but in the ocg, it was literally a one card skull dread. Drop the gofu, make needlefiber, special glow-up, make linkuriboh off the glow-up, which you then bring back and drop skull dread with 4 materials.

needlefiber, bring the phantom beast guy, then link him away with needle for summon sorcerer, summon the token to a zone summon sorcerer points to, then bring something from your deck and there you go, you have 4 different monsters to use for saryuja Edit: I know the cards are not available here but thats one of the ways i can imagine the skulldread being made im sure there are many more

Gofu can go into Needlefiber and then you can go into Summon Sorc with Needlefiber's effect and then you have a token already pointing to Summon Sorc to either use her effect on or to link into something else.

Friendly correction: Token Collector is not a TCG exclusive card. It's just a normal Soul Fusion common given a rarity bump for the sneak peak. If you would like proof, just look the card up in the Yugioh Wiki. (putting links in comments is bad manners after all)

1 card Needlefiber + leaves behind a token, Needlefiber summons O-Lion, Needlefiber and O-Lion make Summon Sorceress, Summon Sorceress can point to either Gofu's token or the Mecha Phantom Beast token to summon either a Winged Beast or a Machine from the Deck, continue on the link spam chain from there. I could write more to explain how it's a 1.5 card extra link but I'll just leave it short. Maybe if dzeeff senpai gives me a favorite I'll elaborate ;P

I Used gofu in my monarchs build because he is free tribute fodder and the tokens were most of the Time destroyed by kuraz in oder to draw cards. Made the Deck less bricky so i Miss my boi gofu tbh 😅

I'm not sure how bad this would be, but what if tokens couldn't be used for generic links? I think in the case of hornet drones it still needs to work with the sky striker links, but what if scape goat couldn't be used for stuff like link spider or knightmares?

@@shuny3914 why would it do more harm? I'm not a professional or anything, but on the surface, it seems like tokens do more harm than good. In most cases, like scape goat, it's super generic, so low tier decks can use it, but high tier decks can also use them to greater effect. But again, this is surface level, as I'm nothing more than a casual player, so I'm not completely in on the meta game.

Correct me if I'm wrong. but I find it pretty weird to say that Gofu is too good because of being able to summon Skull Dread on Turn 1 if you open with it and a monster that is able to be normal summoned. Gofu is not searchable for most decks and as you said, after turn 1 it's pretty much a dead card. And at the same time Gouki is allowed to run freely with it's Extra Link Combos, that are enabled by having two Goukis in your opening hand, which offers way more consistency and fewer dead hands. At this point I'm just really mad at Konami for the way they handle certain strategies. Most of the time a simple errata could solve a lot of problems, but instead cards just hit the banlist.

Not really relevant but something that I genuinely don't get is why nobody plays kidmodo in dragon decks. It may be kind of a garnet but most of the time you will be able to send it from the deck to the GY with just about anything to summon a dragon from your hand and even when it's in your hand it's not truly a garnet, just a -1. Kidmodo also doesn't conflict with the spellcasters because those are your normal summons and since your win condition with most dragon decks is to just summon 95 and do shenanigans with the mills, kidmodo will do half of the jobb to get there. You could make the case that it's not as good going second but you could just play 1 in your main deck and then side it out during game 2 or 3. What I'm saying is please make "Why Nobody Plays Kidmodo Dragon".

Because you don't want to summon dragons from your hand... the dragons decks want to have their big dragons in the graveyard to special summon them, when you send a dragon to de gy you don't want to send kidmodo, you send big dragons, like arkbrave, felgrand, lightpulsar, or in blue-eyes you send the stones to the gy, kidmodo is not your first choice to send to the gy

So what you're saying is that blue-eyes, alternative dragon isn't good because it has to be summoned from the hand? :3 you send the big boys to the grave with 95 and kidmodo helps you summon him turn 1. milling a bunch of strong dragons on their own isn't good, Something like milling felgrand + arkbrave then pass isn't exactly a strong play, but summoning alt and then using kidmodo to summon your vanilla blue-eyes to make 95 and then mill arkbrave + a bunch of stuff is good.

@@martynkalendar alternativr is good because he can be summoned by himself, kidmodo is bad because is waste of resources, the blue eyes deck prefers to special summon the normal blue eyes with spirit white, or sending it to the graveyard with any spell(trade-in,burial, shrine, melody, rhapsody) then using any of the revival cards they have(return, reborn, soul charge, rhapsody, silvers cry). Kidmodo is a waste of resources. The send arkbrave and felgrand pass is a strong play for control, yes i know felgrand deck is not the strongest but the only build of felgrand that topped at anything was a control deck. Playing kidmodo dragon in any dragon deck is like playing it in dragon rulers, why would you play it? You have tons of better ways to put your dragons on the field.

jpgomez02 relying on drawing a revival spell makes that strategy inherently less consistent though. With kidmodo you need to draw melody and some way of sending kidmodo to the gy like ravine or shrine, a 2 card combo compared to a 3.
