That same alarm saved mine from being stolen. I took it to Lake Tahoe and tied it on the stair rails of my hotel and when I woke up the chain on it was cut but they didn’t take it. The alarm must have scared them off. So damn thankful, I would of cried losing 10k lmao

Nice. I invented a theft deterrent but nobody will fund me - it basically waits a few blocks then shorts out the battery pack, consuming the thief's crotch in a raging fireball. I call it "Blojack" and they'll only try once.

Very dumb and bad idea. What if the owner of the bikes finds it? Hes just not gonna magically charge it in 3 seconds. And you'd destroy your battery. So would you spend the same amount of money you used to buy the bike? No. Dumb idea. Plus you'd catch the bike on fire. Use common sense.

I always wear peberspray with me on my e-scooter, used it once and saved me a rubbery. So I guess a proper lock, self-defence and alarm with sms/app notification, is the best.

Hey bro! Just stick a car jack in those u-locks and rock away! no noise and broken in a few seconds my friend! From the skateboard, the community learned that. I also have known people to just jumped in a forest for their bike and had stolen from them while riding. Note to all try and ride with a friend or crew.

I’ve had to remove a few of my unlocks after disappearing keys. It is way easier to freeze the lock and hit it one time with a hammer. Freeze it with a can of keyboard duster

I had my Aventon Aventure stole a few months back and I had AirTaggged it. I did manage to track it down and recover it. If you put the air tag deep in the frame or near some of the electronics I wonder if that is what stopped it from receiving a signal. I also lock my bikes up with at least 3 locks. Might be overkill but I figure the thief will most likely go after a softer target than mess with mine 🙏

The chain version of the new york lock is a bit more effective because it's harder to tension for the angle grinder and still takes as long to get through when held in a fixed position. It's more likely to cause a power tool injury. But it's also like 20 pounds.

i think the airtag may have not worked cause i remember the airtag mount being aluminium or something like that in the upgrade video so maybe the aluminium mount and the airtag being mounted near the electronics and just surrounded by metal too is most likely interfering with the airtag
