Hi Lloyd, I don't need a mountain bike, but would be interested in a comparable street bike for commuting or light grocery shopping with panniers. Does Trek plan to make a counterpart to the model featured in your video?

I would look at the Loft Go 7D. It is a hub drive system with the battery hidden in the frame. Add a rear rack and panniers and it’s ready to roll. If you want a mid drive system look at Verve + bikes , the battery isn’t as hidden but the bike is designed for commuting

@@BumsteadsBicycles Thank you, Lloyd. I presently have a mid drive Haibike 29er but it is bulkier than I'd like (bought it from a friend about 5 years ago). The Verve + lineup looks interesting, albeit pricey and in limited supply in Santa Barbara where I live in a larger size (I'm 6'-1"). I wish I lived closer to Ontario!

Trek are turning into a Specialized type brand... only surgeons and dentists can afford them. NO WAY is this affordable to any midclass rider.
