I got a blade sr and when it arrived the model shop had stuck a note to the front of the box saying that the gyro was set at the factory but that they felt that you might want to plug the gyro in and set it roughly to the 1 o clock setting. After the 1st flight I took thier advice and with very tiny adjustments around the 1 o clock position she flew so much better. Didn't stop me crashing every other flight but definately improved how my SR flew! Going to try advice from this vid, sounds good!

just had to say Ive had a sr for 3 years now and it flys as good as my raptor 50. The sr is simply awsome for flying anywhere
@nhsledfreak13 жыл бұрын
Rob ya rock... I follow every step, hop up and advise you give my SR is all out insane now and I have added the MIA total kit to it :) TY bro much appreciated. Also I suggest to any one go with the CNC aluminum blade grips and have extra feathering spindles on hand as well as throw on a nice set of carbon fiber blades.

all you have to do its just reduce the gain on the gyro, very little by very little, i mean millimeter by millimeter. that fixed my wag.
@chrisortiz26406 жыл бұрын
carlocivicsi i will try that before ultimately messing with gyro
@Thrashaero6 жыл бұрын
right but sometimes you're reducing it too much, an amount that can be compensated for by adding the extra padding. that way you can get crisper hold when you're on a tricky attitude that you don't normally get through hovering.

I viewed this vid for the same reason as "jamiehs" did, though for my Saturday arrival of my Thunder Tiger Innovator EXP. I am sure there are a lot of fine points about CP helis like this that apply to all CP helis, as I am just learning.

Gyros have come a long way and the sr does not suck, if you want to get rid of that tail wag get yourself a decent transmitter. Remote gain adjustments make a huge difference

Can this heli fly in a little bit of wind

Works great. Thanks much.

looks like you have some right side off balancing going on .the heli seems to lean to the right when you have it up in the air
@Tabasconate112 жыл бұрын
Yes I agree. The heli has potential. I do t understand when ppl that have tried or own one say it fly like a dream and it's so staple when it's not at all. All I can do with it is just hover , it's staple enough for that. That why bought a century e640. Building that now, no more little helis anymore! They are a waste of no ey and time of you ask me.

Great series of videos. I'm new to the Blade SR so these were helpful. I was a bit disappointed buzzing tail wag so I followed your instructions to the T. Now my heli wont arm. Both the receiver and newly remounted servo just blink incessantly. If i hook up the bind plug and run through that process the gyros on the main blade all work. Once i put it back in normal mode nothing. I've also taken a step back and disconnect the yellow wire and still the same, the heli does not arm. Any ideas?

Thanks for the video it was super helpful! One thing I was just wondering that I didn't hear mentioned was the position/setting you leave the pot dial adjustment in after plugging in the gyro to the receiver for remote gain adjustment. I saw another video suggesting I turn it all the way up (+) clockwise and use the channel 5 knob from there. Is this best?
@ripghost118913 жыл бұрын
Hi you mentioned to contrail that you really need some fligth experience before moving onto one of these. Would a blade msr be sufficient to fly with first then move to this? Or get a Walkera CB180D first? Thanks for your time and great videos always look forward to them.

You mention plugging in the Yellow wire into the receiver second slot over. What happens to the wire plug that comes out of this socket?

Someone said that the gain on the gyro has to be set to zero when doing this mod. Said he read it in his Blade 400 manual. But I can see that your adjusments made changes. I wonder why the Blade SR manual says nearly nothing about this subject?? You don't have to flip any of the switches on the gyro??
@Tabasconate112 жыл бұрын
The only thing really not stable about it is the tail. It's too late for a exchange. I'm just going to sell it as parts. Thanks for all the comments and the video.

thanks for that I will do that

Hey CHD - first let me say THANKS for posting these vids, it is very very helpful! So I tried this on my SR & I must have missed something. I thought I followed your instructions to a T but I didnt see any change at all. Not with the knob all the way up or down. I changed the gyro from STD to DS, switched the channel 5 to reverse - nothing - it was exactly the same no matter what I did. Am I missing something??? Thanks for any help you can offer!

What is the name of the port that you plug in that one yellow wire into? Is it labeled "gear"?
@jasoncorderopianist12 жыл бұрын
Just to make sure, I got a little confused. When you showed how to connect the yellow wire to the receiver, it was already plugged in, u didn't plug it in at that moment, am I correct?

Rob, Is there a tail blade substitution we can use for our SR'S since you can't get the stock (EFLH 1324) anymore? Thanks, I have learned alot from your videos. Kelly in San Antonio

do you have to set your radio no 5 dip switch to up for this to work ? even without a yellow wire
@Carkshark12 жыл бұрын
To aviod all of this unneeded hassle, buy the T-rex 250 Combo kit from Align. It is much better and is near perfect all the time unless you crash it.

Any recommendations on what I can do to get all three of my copters back up? I have the same sr also the 120 s 120 sr. My question is I’m trying to find a full main rotor head assembly? It’s discontinued so hard to find what do you recommend. My main blade grips broke.

Hi Dude, I am looking for a transition into CP that won't break my very small budget. I hear a lot of warnings about the SR but it still seems appealing to me. The new 200 SRX looks great but it is still fixed pitch. I can fly a 4 channel flybar type heli pretty well (V913 from wltoys for instance) providing the wind is calm, which it seldom is around here. I have found a used SR RTF that I can get for around $80...would this be an ok investment or would I be better off putting that towards the 200SRX? I will add that I have a Belt CP already that is undergoing some upgrades and setup to a better transmitter, but it is still intimidating to me...would the SR be a good step between 3 channel and the Belt 450 size? Thanks.
@CrazyHeliDude10 жыл бұрын
James Williams I don't really think so. At best the SR would be very incremental in your case. OK, I'm going to finally say this: When I first started flying these things in 1991, there was NOTHING available but a .30 or .60 sized nitro. No electrics, no "nano copters," no simulators, etc. Nothing. You either did or you didn't. And yeah you crashed a lot and had to do a lot of repairs. And I was learning in the middle of the winter with cold, snow and wind to boot! If I and others could do that then, you guys can definitely learn on these "easy-copters" now. I'm not dissing you in any way, and I respect your question .... just saying. There comes a time when you have to take the training wheels off, take the sweat and get a little dirty. I would move away from the 200 SRX in this case and use the Belt CP since you already have one. Like I always say, just take it slow and easy .... as slow as you need to and you should be fine. Hope this helps.
