As for me I'm #NeverTouchTheENaira first, because the CBN chose a foreign FinTech company even though there were local bidders. Second, because the government hasn't been faithful in the area of respect of human rights. Third, is political uncertainties. You could wake up one day and realise the CBN has shut your account over a new law. Fourth, because I think the e-Naira is a white elephant project. Seriously, the e-Naira won't solve the problem of inflation or solve our industrialisation problems. It's just a big fat lie engineered to make us feel busy and productive.

If it works then your naira will be stronger & have a good purchasing power to the dollar. If not then you may just follow the downtrend but can still buy goods with it within Nigeria.

FYI, e-naira will not be a cryptocurrency (Bitcoin, ETH). It's just your regular Naira in a digital format. When you open an account, it will be like opening one with your local bank, but initially, it will be with the CBN, who will be responsible for issuing your Naira equivalent in a digital format. 1 e-Naira = 1 paper Naira

@Michael Otuya when there is a/ there are strong leaders in power, the people will be willing to lay their trust and cooperate. As it is, there are none, and there probably won’t be for a long time. I agree that the Nigerian social life tends to be lax on political issues, but that is as a result of the political history of Nigeria. When we have a group of vibrant leaders who’s only aim is to see the prosperity of Nigeria, who are not blinded by the ethnic conflict, and are always anticipating destruction. This qualities will water down into the population, and the population will therefore be a reflection of this people in power. My fear is that the general population have become to relaxed to engage in the sort of rig our required for true change.

Completely understand your question and it’s something I pondered myself. The thing is, the e-naira (assuming it launches) never takes form in paper so there’s no “physical” existence of it. It is born solely digitally and issued as legal tender. The current digital funds in the banking apps might have been cash deposited and translated in your app.

I respect your work mate, because you are pointing people in the right direction, this is the FOMO September for incoming dip in October. It is manipulated but that can be a good thing if you understand it. We should all know that when these reports are bullish take some off to the side lines, when news gets bearish start buying.
