It is funny. I bought a sampler from the once you had on sale a couple weeks ago and and had the same construction issues with the same cigar. I am guessing it is applicable to the batch you got. Besides that to me it looks like over humidification from the factory rather than bunching issues. I think many companies these days rather ship the product over humidified than to have issues by the time the customers smokes it (recently got a box of Undercrown with even more noticeable humidification issues). Aside from that, EP Carrillo as of today I believe has a very good selection of tobaccos that make small issues like this one, not that noticeable with the overall experience. At least for now Encore Black seem to be a punchy bold cigar. I'll see where they go when they get some age in the humidor.

Great, clean, dessert like flavor, just wish there was more of it. Retrohale is a must do for this cigar. Hoping the price comes down and they begin offering in larger vitolas.

​@@mubashirmohiuddin5346Thanks and yeah I know there's plenty of great smokes in that range , but every now and then I like to indulge in something a little more expensive. Had no problem 4 years ago , at one point my humidors had up to 500 cigars in them. Now I'm buying a handful a week 😐

When trying new cigars which is what I like to do, I find trying multiple cigars is best before making a judgement on how much I like it… EP Carillo is a brand I have not much experience with and that will change moving forward

Maybe it's just me but the last few years EPC cigars aren't as good as they used to be, the original Pledge was amazingly good and the Encore was sublime. La Historia was excellent. I recently had a new pledge from my local retailer and it was no where near as good as ones from my humidor and the Allegiance was average, just ok really. I wonder if they aren't ageing their cigars like they used to, due to demand. I will try the Black but somehow I'm no rush...Maybe my palate has changed who knows.😢

I just got one of these locally, kinda dry flavor, as in no sweetness. Just a charred earth flavor. It’s mostly mouth feel at the beginning!

I picked one up last week in a B&M..the rep was there and said if you hadn’t had this you need to try it, I like the pledge so I asked him how it stacks up and he said its a lot stronger cigar.. I didn’t find that at all.. instead its similar to what you said, it’s one of the sweetest cigars I have had in a while and didn’t seem as strong as the pledge… but a great flavor, only downside was it was pricey for a robusto at $19..

I think everything EPC puts out has potential to be amazing. Here’s my gripe with them and what I think lets them down. If you buy a box and you start weighing each cigar, you’ll notice a huge disparity between on and another. Sometimes more than several grams worth. 😢 if they could Get that aspect of their production right and keep consistency, I think they would be able to stand up to brands like Dunbarton better

I'm the biggest fan of Nicaraguan and Honduran cigars. And if there's a blend that has Brazilian leaf in it, I'm almost definitely going to try it! Dominican leaf is good, but sometimes I find it to be a bit hit or miss for my palate.

@ Thank you for taking the time to answer! I figured as much because I was seeing soooo many nicaraguan and Honduran cigar reviews and few Dominican. Personally I’m much more partial to Dominican leaf, however, my special occasion cigars are mostly nicaraguan.
