Abby and carter had good Friendship chemistry and carter was only drawn to Abby because they shared a common problem. An addiction. So of course she’d understand his feelings but he was always trying to fix her and she didn’t want a fix. She wanted to be loved despite her own problems and carter had high expectations. That’s not love.. especially since finally getting her in season 9 only to drop her at the first second things got rocky and came back with a new pregnant girlfriend from Africa. Even Abby said it, it was doomed from the beginning.. she always Luka more.
