I agree with running two, simply because of how hot both my servos get, but traxxas runs 2 cheapo servos instead of 1 nice servo to save money and get you to buy hop-up parts later on. They even advertise the 330oz blue 2250 servo as replacing both stock erevo servos as a single unit. I have been through 2 sets of stock servos from Traxxas. It really is a pain to keep changing them all the time. I even put my stock servos from the old E Revo Brushless in my 2.0 and it appeared they were weaker than the stock 2.0 servos. So I was going to run just 1 powerful servo in the 2.0 but now I'm going to run 2. Do the Savox servos make a hum sound when they are in the neutral position, i have heard digital servos do that and it is normal to hear them make noise.

Is that with the stock plastic steering assembly, because that thing has a lot of flex. I think with an aluminum steering assembly the difference might not have been as much. I run a single 1230, but have the aluminum steering assembly (1/0 Summit, which is comparable in this regard).
@outsourcedrc6 жыл бұрын

@drog3436 жыл бұрын
Yeah, because I noted the same thing in mine when I first went to a single servo, especially when it had twice as much torque as the 2 stock, but I didn't actually see much benefit until putting a aluminum assembly, it's faster regardless of the amount of resistance. The stock plastic part just bows really bad, so you need both servo's one pulling one side while the other pushes, it allows the plastic part to turn relatively straight (instead of just bending when one servo is pushing and pulling on just one side).

Quick question. What is the BEC on the ESC? If those are high voltage 7.4 servos, and running only one the ESC's BEC voltage being lower than the servo can use, ie; a 5v BEC ESC limit running a 7.4v servo, it won't be at full strength. I'm sure you figured this in, just asking because I'm most likely going to get an E-Revo 2.0 VXL this winter. Thanks and great video!
@outsourcedrc6 жыл бұрын
I forget what the BEC is stock. I'm aware that they are not at full power. I don't think they really need to be. I assume that running the servos at full power will drain the batteries faster, and Savox servos already drain batteries pretty quickly. When I put these on I was going to put a BEC on it, but after I drove it around I didn't think it needed it. I may get one and test the battery life after installing. I know these servos as they are shortened the run time by like 15-20 minutes.
@bigbadbronx726 жыл бұрын
@@outsourcedrcI have to disagree on the shortened run time. One servo operating at it's full 7.4v will steer the truck 100% better and only shorten your run times slightly. Try it out!😀
@jimhimesjr6 жыл бұрын
bigbadbronx72 agreed. One servo running at 7.4 should be using less battery then 2 running at 5 or 6 volts each. Savox servos are power hungry but 15 minutes less run time seems like a bit much, they aren’t like a motor that is working constantly. Good video, interesting comparison.
@outsourcedrc6 жыл бұрын
@@jimhimesjr I didnt do a battery life comparison on the E Revo 2.0, but I know before I swapped the servos the 2.0 would run out of battery about 5 mins before the V1 E Revo, and now its like15+ mins before the V1. Its pretty consistant.
