I'd say e-skates are the most fun imo. I used a skateboard as my primary form of transportation for years so I'm definitely biased. But riding one is like every longboarder's dream; you're basically riding a never ending hill with brakes. It's so dope.

If you're looking for a "car replacement" ebikes are the better choices. You can carry groceries on them depending on what kind of racks or trailers you have. Which is not to diminish the utility of an e-scooter, which can be perfect for a quick trip to buy a small number of items. I have both.

I sold my Vespa-style ebike and bought an e-scooter. This made me happy for several reasons: 1. You can take your e-scooter pretty much anywhere. 2. No more being stranded with a flat tire on a curbside. IF you have a flat, just call a cab and take your e-scooter to the nearest help. 3. In winter, you can store your e-scooter at home not to kill the battery with cold weather. 4. It's easy to put the e-scooter up on a workbench and work on it. Even washing it is much easier than washing an ebike. 5. Having all these advantages, an e-scooter is as practical as an ebike. Just attach a cargo hook to it or get a backpack. I use my e-scooter to do most of my groceries.

I was in the market for an Electric Scooter in the past because I was getting tired of using my Car for daily commuting.. But I decided to get an Electric MTB instead for a multitude of reasons and it's been great.. I personally think that Electric Bicycles are the best out of all three if we're looking at it from a sheer utility stand point, which I think is the most objective point of view to look at because most people will buy these because they need a mode of transportation instead of a recreational device.. 1. Electric Bicycles can be fitted with one or multiple racks, bags and baskets to help you carry stuff around like some people need to at a regular basis.. The other 2 doesn't really offer any way of helping you carry your things so you're pretty much limited to using a backpack.. 2. Electric Bicycles have basically infinite range so it's really the only PEV where you won't have range anxiety 3. Electric Bicycles may need the most maintenance, but it's also the least stressful because there are significantly more E-Bike/Bike Shops than E-Scooter or E-Skate shops so unless you bought something extremely niche, chances are you're easily going to find a replacement part if something breaks along with some one who actually knows how to fix it.. 4. A minor point, Electric Bicycles are the only PEV that help you get exercise as well.. 5. Another minor point, Electric Bicycles are the most comfortable because aside from some niche E-Scooters, they're the only PEV that let's you sit down while using it.. Most people assume that Electric Bicycles are the most expensive but that isn't completely true.. There are $400 Electric Bicycles from Walmart that, admittedly isn't going to win any awards, but neither will a $400 E-Scooter or E-Skate.. Really though, the only actual negatives I can see with Electric Bicycles is they're the least portable, but even then, Folding E-Bikes exist so unless you have to take your PEV with you in the subway or somewhere cramped regularly, Electric Bicycles still have you covered..

I mean most people can just wear a back pack bruh for carrying stuff if you need a lot you want an e trike not e bike. I personally think the EUC is the future of transport and while scooters don't offer as much, e skates offer a lot of core exercise... Just because you think you pedaling is more exercise that doesn't mean it's the best solution. EUC take a lot of core and leg strength to operate people lose weight offroading on them.

Loved your scooter roundup, and thanks for the shoutout to EUCs. After riding e-skate (RIP Boosted Boards) and e-bikes, EUCs are by far my favorite, if you have someone who knows how to ride teach you. What I like about them is their portability, they wheel into anywhere (although some are too heavy to easily lift) and have large diameter wheels which soak up potholes. Because they are controlled by balance alone, they are very reliable, no foot plate switches, bluetooth remotes or cables to snap. I recommend finding a facebook group of EUC or wider PEV riders (which will have EUC riders) and going to a meetup to maybe have a go. Would love to start seeing EUCs on your excellent channel, to really round out your excellent coverage of all things PEV!

About a year later, it’s like you have super powers and are constantly flying close to the ground - it’s a crazy feeling, I love it, and your footprint is so small compared to anything else, even the chunkier 16 inch wheels scoot into a shop no problem, performance to size and also price, EUCs are worth considering.

My personal observations E-scooter: - Easiest to learn - Most budget friendly for range (ex. $450 Turboant X7 Max gets 30km range) E-skateboard: - Most portable - Most budget friendly for speed (ex. $400 Wowgo 2S Max gets 45km/h) E-bike: - Safest (especially under high speed, most stable) - Most practical for carrying stuff, including 2 people E-unicycle: - Best range at high end (ex. $3000 Sherman gets 200km range, thousand dollar EUCs generally have better range than equivalent PEVs) Onewheel: - Most maneuverable? (Not sure about this vs EUC)

You also need to think about how the machine fits the area of use. A bike can be used out of town on long rural rides. Whilst you CAN ride a scooter out on fast busy roads between towns…would you feel safe? Skateboards are better in suburbs, since lane splitting and dodging through tight traffic in a busy city centre is going to go badly at some point and yet conversely can you see yourself skating along 9 miles of 60 mph open road…you’d have to be brave or mad and the chance of becoming a hood ornament is high. I say choose the machine to fit the location, with bikes being the best ‘everywhere’ solution and much much easier to stay on if you hit a pot hole.

I have no experience with skates, and I don't see myself ever going that route, but the reviews for the bikes and scooters were very helpful. In the end, I went with the scooters. I typically use them to commute while at university. Car parking is a disaster on campus, so I just ride my e-scooter. I don't trust people to not steal any component from my ride, so that's points against the e-bike when I need to park it, whereas I can carry my e-scooter around in folded mode. It's on the heavy side, but it also doubles as good weight training when I feel like lifting and am not in the mood to ride to the gym. I also ride it to work, so I save a lot of miles on my car.

What's right for me. I'm 60 AND active, but 2 years ago, I fell from a tall ladder and got a Traumatic Brain Injury. By hospital release, I had recovered about 95%, but slight double vision (corrected w/ glasses) and my balance was still slightly off. I will not even try to learn a skateboard. As I got a "seizure-like event" the day of my accident, I had to be 6 months seizure free, to be able to drive. So for these reasons, I got back into (regular) bicycling w/ lights, a rear rack for groceries, and continued home exercises. I like motorcycles, but they go fast and are dangerous around cars! I ended up earning my drivers license back, w/ 3 annual Medical Reviews. But, I discovered e-scooters, I ride a cheap one w/ a SEAT, because I was worried about standing and balancing. Same reason I avoid skateboards. But I found e-scooters are just a bit harder to balance than a bicycle, and w/ smaller wheels, could more easily crash from a surface imperfections. I'm gonna get a Bafang kit ($800+) w/ removable battery to store inside, to power 1 of 3 bicycles, & if one bike breaks, I'll move the ekit to another. An ebike tends to have proprietary parts, some batteries are built-in and can be more expensive.

Something else that is very important to note, which wasn’t shown in the video, is the safety factor: if we were to fall, which PEV would be the safest? And, which is the better PEV at preventing accidents? Also, which is more likely to have someone mess with your PEV or steal it? **If we were to fall, which PEV would be the safest?** 1) In first place, I’m thinking the eSkate is the safest since our body isn’t held down and there isn’t anything blocking our path, from the eSkate, when falling. Our body is upright, as well, allowing us better chances at staying on our feet. 2) 2nd place, I think it may be the eBike. I think this is because our body is together and we can roll from a crash. There are chances that we could flip over the bars, but maybe this is less likely to happen vs an eScooter. 3) In 3rd, I’m thinking the eScooter because if we fall over the handle bars, that can trip our body over and flip it around. Or, if our body misses most of the bar, our feet might get caught on the bar, causing us to turn, maybe flip, and possibly faceplant more easily. Maybe it can be taught to push the bar out of the way if we are going to crash, but that will still be hard to do in a moment’s notice. **Which is the better PEV at preventing accidents?** I’m not too sure here, but maybe the eBike and eScooter is best for a better breaking control as our weight/body can be held against the PEV, while an eSkate can have our body thrown off? But maybe we would just practice leaning our body back to accommodate room for our body moving forward on an eSkate, when breaking. Aside from breaking, the eBike and eScooter are both better at turning quickly/more sharply out of a situation compared to an eSkate. With an eSkate, we probably would have to jump off the board to have a quick change of direction to avoid a situation, if the breaks weren’t enough. **Which is more likely to have someone mess with your PEV or steal it?** 1) eBikes may be more likely to have someone mess with it or steal it due to if the rider is not allowed to bring it inside, but must lock it up outside. 2) eScooters and eSkates are basically the same portability, which should be able to be taken with you inside buildings and vehicles.

It's a very very important question often overlooked. Depends on the model, but almost all of them have some resistance from the magnets in the hub motor. As someone said before, you can do it, and downhills no problem, but it's a bit of a workout. Also helps if the deck is low. So for example I often use a Megawheels s1 pro or Kugoo s1 pro both of which have low decks so can be used in this way - but quite a lot of effort. What is good though is that you can kick assist it up steep hills to increase speed and range and get some valuable exercise too

You'll also want to look into what the laws are around whatever you're interested in. There's not much point in buying an e scooter that can go highway speeds if where you live doesn't allow them on roads with speed limits above 35 mph.

I would say buy an e bike & electric skateboard. Ebike for long range & shopping trips Eskateboard for daily commute & mini shopping trips (with a backpack) If you have to choose one get the electric skateboard and order your weekly food shopping :)

Coming from an electric unicycle owner, the scooter is the best overall compromise of safety, portability, range, speed, and price. If there were cheaper all terrain e skates out there to increase the safety factor that would be my pick. Unicycle wins on portability, range, and price, but loses on safety and cool factor.

I GOT A SCOOTER OVER A E-BIKE BECAUSE THE BATTERY IN THE SCOOTR WAS MUCH HIGHER HAD A LONGER RANGE ESPECIALLY FOR THE PRICE. I HAVE A EMOVE CRUISER WITH A 52 VOLT 30.5 AMP HOUR BATTERY ONLY 52 POUNDS I GET GREAT RANGE DECENT SPEED. I WOULD ALSO LIKE A E-BIKE BUT THE SCOOTR IS EASIER TO CARRY UP STAIRS. I GET OVER 50 MILES.

Wow great options! Still not decided what to give my son for Christmas. I was thinking either an e-bike or e-skate. Any protection besides helmets, I should also buy for him? I did find xnito helmets that they claim that they protect up to 28 mph, do you think this is legit? Any advice will help me for sure!
@aelecx9083
@aelecx9083 2 жыл бұрын
I’m not sure about the legitimacy of the helmet, but ebikes are somewhat safer. If you crash into something with an escooter, you sorta just flop to the floor, having a lot of pressure on your head. If you crash in an Ebike, you have less distance to fall. Buy a nice leather jacket and some knee pads.

Spend a couple extra hundred and get the ninebot max v1. Huge range, decent cruise speed and an absolute tank which can go over 10 000 miles if looked after. Cheaper scooters may be lighter and more portable but they lack as much commuting potential and confidence that you’ll make it home no matter where you are in your town/city.

Unfortunately, it is not true that all PRV sales are growing. In NE, we see a lot of e-bikes but very few scooters, uniwheels and skate boards. It is such that you cannot even find a mechanic and you have to be able to do all the work yourself which is the biggest evidence of a lack of industrial growth.

6:23 I'm going to disagree there... There are MANY ebike brands with absurd prices and worse features compared to cheaper ebikes. You end up paying a lot for a "brand" with most ebikes. I rode my buddies ~$4,000 Super73 and loved it so I did my research and ended up buying a JuicedBike for less than half the price and the same or better features.

Im quite experienced on board sports and I wish there was a smaller and lighter board with kickers, and the battery should definitely not be under the board, or at all attached to the board at all. Wires have a purpose here.. Because the current e boards are way to heavy to actually be fun in practice.
@denkaes5844
@denkaes5844 2 жыл бұрын
There are a lot of smaller/lighter eboards out there, but you sacrifice range, same as with any euv. You want the battery attached to the board because if you fall or rather WHEN you fall you wont fall on your battery (if backpack for example) and no one wants wires hanging around that you can get stuck in. A brake lever on a mountainboard is enough hassle to keep track of. Way to heavy to have fun? idk what board you have tried or what you are doing with your board when you ride, but the normal eboard can do everything you can do with a normal longboard (carving, speeding etc). I'd say you'll have more fun on a eboard, because you have brakes and power. There are some really heavy boards out there, but you get insane range, and power. I'm actually selling my ebike to buy a eboard again, most ebikes are way too heavy so even if there's a bigger battery, you wont get far because of weight.

E-scooter is best for riding in the city. E-bike is best for riding outside of it. The scooter is easier to maneuver among stopped cars and the portability helps (I have an E-TWOW which is really portable, not like these examples shown here), and the small wheels are good enough for the city asphalt. But it's insufficient for any off-city exploration, where you need the big wheels and the added range of a bike. Also, riding pedals makes the bike more fun. An electric scooter feels just like a car, you're not doing much to maintain speed, it's not the same fight as on an ebike to keep the high speed.

If your cities roads are bad and not many bike lanes (for scooter) causing you to share road with cars you'll feel those bumps and be worrying going slow trying not to eat it. mid diameter wheels on mine but fatter ones would probably be better. Braking takes longer too forsure kinda sketch but you gotta lean back when braking too. One major thing ppl are not mentioning is drivers can't see which way you are turning as easy as on a bike it's more visible to see the large wheel turning causes more hesitation for drivers from what ive witnessed. Just laying some info out if anyone's curious. Love my e scooters hopefully I can buy or try all pves 😂
@arkhamkillzone
@arkhamkillzone Жыл бұрын
@dictionplacement5467 these are things they don't tell you on the packaging. I live in Melbourne/Australia and there are fair amount of bike lanes here. Still I'd prefer to use a bike on those. Scooter seems more of a lazy way to get around and the option to exercise on just isn't practical.

Here are all the advantages these 3 things have over eachother; Electric Bikes: They have a longer range, and more space to carry items (cargo). Electric Scooters: They are faster than both E-Bikes and E-Skateboards, and they are basically built for road. Electric Skateboards: They have a remote, to control the whole thing. They also charge quicker, and fit in any car. They are also cheaper. Genuinely, I would rather pick an E-Scooter, over an E-Bike or E-Skateboard. E-Scooters just seem better.

Eskates almost should have been left out of the conversation here if your only experience is with a $500 something looking board while having multi thousand dollar bikes and scooters. If you're willing to spend thousands on an Eskate, you can get boards that will go 60,70,80 mph with over 20000W worth of motor power and 1400Wh batteries or offroad boards and mountain boards with even bigger batteries, fully independent suspension, gear drive and bindings, and thats just boards you can buy, If you want do go the DIY route (probably the easiest for the PEV with the least components) there isnt any limit.

Eboards are great but you will take a spill sooner or later and even if well protected you can get hurt badly, quite easily at the speeds you ride. You can carry very little, has to be on your back pretty much exclusively, too much weight will throw your balance off too much. You've got a plank of wood with 4 little wheels underneath and that's it. I would never ride in a situation with traffic. I ride, love my eboard but it's dangerous, no doubt, and I've got a few nifty scars to show for it! 😁👍

Ebike all the way, hear me out. Pedal assist will keep u going forever and if ur feeling lazier there’s at times where ur ebike has full throttle mode which is fun too. But You know if your out far and ur ride dies on you, you are gonna be upset. Though, with a ebike even if it dies you can pedal your way home, while on the other hand, electric scooters or eskateboards would pe harder to kick your way home, and some eboards and escooters are heavier and isn’t that well to kick off it

I guess it depends on where you are in terms of state or country. Some police officers are very strict while other only focus on cars and motorcycles. You also have to consider if you are riding fast in front of them and obeying traffic rules. I stay on roads with shoulders and bike paths while staying off of highways and freeways....if you have to cross them then do so quickly. If you happen to get back on the road with a scoot try to avoid people in cars like the plague. They will be the ones who snitch the most.
