OMG...thtz so true...thtz wots ive been thinking all this time regarding Netrebko...1 cn both hear and physically sometimes see tht high notes are forced...personalli, I feel she's trying 2 hard to interperate a bit of La Callas and Monsarret in her technique...nd this fact is quite AUDIBLE...

Don't judge the totality of a voice by a live concert recording. Who knows what the hall and recording equipment are doing to the pick up of any given voice.

Well done. It is a competition. I wouldnt expect her to sing the entire opera, not just yet. Lower and middle needs some body. No problem,its a young voice,and with good training, it will come.

Decent. Her coloratura needs work. She does a kind of whoaaa going up the notes and slurs them a bit. Each note should be hit precisely. And she should have not done the high E flat at the end. It was strained and had other flaws. It is not in the score and most sopranos sing the score for which there is no shame. But if you can do it correctly without strain or covering or effort, then it can be glorious. The note should be bright, effortless and it should be sung without swooping up to it - just hitting it exactly with a glottal stroke and held. She didn't swoop up to it, which is a common mistake, but it was strained, done with effort, a bit thin and she wobbled a bit in the intonation. You can see her getting ready for it. The note before it is not quite clean and she does not hold it. Both the E flat and the note before it need to be hit precisely and sound very clean. That wasn't the case here. You feel she is pushing the end of her range. It should sound like she has several higher notes she could easily hit. It would be better not to do it than to do it like this. This is one of the most difficult and tiring arias in all of opera. Perhaps with more training and practice - she has a very nice voice and the beginnings of a good technique, but not yet.

Once again a soprano who is only focused on her higher register. The lower notes are almost inaudible and the highest ones are performed under stress. The aria is rushed through without any individual emotions. She doesn´t sing the phrases until the last note. It slips away and needs more control. Promising but not ready yet for such a difficult role.

Yes I noticed that too that the aria is being rushed.. in my experience, arias that are rushed through for singers, are normally done in order for the singer to get through it and not lag in the difficult technicalities that they may face by singing an aria.
