I have the basic E-Twow. It is a marvelous machine. I am six feet two inches tall and weigh 195 lbs. When I commute from my home in Brooklyn, over the Brooklyn Bridge into Manhattan, I often use the E-Twow. With a pack on my back, i probably weigh 210-215lbs. The machine carries me easily....though i do have to help a bit when going up the long slopes to the Bridge walkway. Kicking helps wonderfully....without a lot of work, an occasional kick adds 50% to the speed. On the flats, it will hit that 30km/hr (18mph) speed. I have size 13 shoes and have no problem standing on the E-Twow deck. Note: about brakes.....the main brake is the little lever on the handlebar, not the footbrake on the rear. The main brake is magnetic (and regenerative) and is located on the front wheel. The rear brake is for emergency stopping, though it does engage the front magnetic brake also. I have an EcoReco also which I like very much - one can do a wheelie on an Ecoreco - but it weighs 10 lbs more and with much smaller tires, it does not handle bumps as well as the E=Twow.

I just wanted to say that your content is very good. Excellent actually. Found you on youtube and I'm almost through watching all your videos in just two days. Thorough content. I like how you go into detail and your access to makers/manufacturers/retailers is unique. Much appreciated. I won't hesitate to say your videos are the best reviews of the scooters I've been watching. Top notch. Continue the good work. Stay safe out there. (I was trying to just email you personally through your website, but it said that this was spam).

I have the Booster model and your review was very accurate. I use it commute about 16 miles each day from home to BART and then BART to work. It is the perfect last mile solution for me. It is extremely portable and powerful for its size. I have owned folding bikes, folding electric bikes and another electric scooter. The Ecoreco M3 is more powerful but definitely lacks in range compared to the Booster. The Booster is also very easy to trolley around and it fits in my gym locker. I had about 60 miles on the Ecoreco and compared it to the Booster over a week period. I sold the Ecoreco the following week. I have over 700 miles on my Booster and it has changed the way I commute to work and go about my day to day life in a major city.
@RCDevotee9 жыл бұрын
I have run it in pretty heavy rain and it is very slippery on some terrain but manageable for anyone with enough coordination. I also have the Razor Lux A5 kickscooter and the Booster has better traction but both are slippery. If you have good balance and don't take turns too aggressively you will be fine.
@thabg0079 жыл бұрын
+Robert Fontanosa so you liked this better then the ecoreco M3/M5, i was look at and this e-twow, the etwow is even lighter i see, but i was wondering about it being FWD vs the m3/m5 RWD. dont know which one to get
@RCDevotee9 жыл бұрын
+thabg007 The e-twow is much more portable and has better range. I had the M3 for a week and ran it in identical conditions to my S2. The S2 handled everything better. As long as you have decent balance and coordination front wheel drive should be fine.
@thabg0079 жыл бұрын
+Robert Fontanosa ok, yea i already have a large electric scooter, but i need something light weight for that short trip from subway to office, i guess the etwow is the winner due to its smaller size and lighter weight
@rcnacura9 жыл бұрын
How well do you think this would do for some of the moderate hills in sf? I'll be using to do roundtrip from roughly a few blocks above Castro station to 16th street Bart for my commute and save a bunch of time not taking (broken) muni. I'm 6'3 and 200#. Thanks in advance!
@per-olamjomark74529 жыл бұрын
On the e-twow webpage they state that the maximum load for the S2 ECO model is 110 kg / 240 lbs. So that is far better than 75 kg /165 lbs. Anyways. Thank you for posting this, it certainly is an interesting electric kick scooter. :)
@Hotplate19 жыл бұрын
The max load is 110kg or around 242 pounds,not 75kg or 165 pounds.

Man I really need something like this , I don't have a driver license And I live a near village close to the city 25-+ KM that for the most part is connected with a special bike runaway +-20km along the highway . Most of the times I finish work at 1 am and have to wait there till 6 am until the public transport metro, opens because the village doesn't have a night bus service connecting to the city , do you think I could use this at night to come back home for about 25km mostly flat and driving it on the bicycle runaway for the most part or is that a bit impossible to do , wishfull thinking?

If you go to the U.S. website at www.etwow.com they have videos of how to open and close scooter which there is a trick to you must push slightly forward on hadlebar as you push red lever with foot which was done for safety, how to change from km to mph and how you can either do a kick start or start immediately with the throttle. On the site it states the scooter has a one year warranty on the scooter and 6 months on battery. They also have new enhanced hand grips on the Booster model so they are much easier to fold now.

I have the eco (cheapest) version. The solid wheels are very bumpy and have almost zero grip when wet. I had to get my rear wheel changed to air filled ones to gain more stability. I still have to go around wet corners very slowly or I will skid! The battery quality is highly variable but KEY! I bought mine (display set) with 6 mths warranty. The first battery was excellent (>30km on 1 charge) but after 2mths something blew & I had to have it replaced under warranty. The replacement sucks & I struggle to get 20km out of it. Think I have to either make my own battery pack or come up with a way to qualify new packs at point of purchase. FWIW, a new battery pack is around 25~40% of the cost of a new scooter! Otherwise, an excellent scooter that I can take on our local MRT -train-bus system. My daily commute is around 10~15km (generally broken into 4x 2.5km segments).

Not made to handle even the weight of the AVERAGE American man (and I don't mean obese). Front heavy gives it a rougher ride and I worry about flipping forward. Just not nearly as beefy or solid feeling as the EcoReco, and I hate the brake. Well, I'm 200lbs so I probably shouldn't have even ridden it. Maybe good for a middle schooler. Do like the light and horn for sure.
@peter1304767 жыл бұрын
I don't know, I'm 220 lbs and I love it. Yes, I am careful not to ride on rough terrain but for Bucharest sidewalks (which on average are nowhere near the ones in Western Europe) this thing is perfect for 10 mile trips. Well, Bucharest is quite flat, not many inclines. I have the newer Booster model (Booster Plus). Crazy expensive for a poor Romanian like me but I hate buses and I hate Bucharest traffic with my car, so this and my Chinese e-bike (which I also love) are my only options (except in winter, which can be Alaska-like cold in Bucharest).
