It has always been like this in the Philippines. I was born in the late 1950’s. There were singing contests on Philippine TV wayyyy before AGT and The Voice. Guys singing with their guitar on a street corner as a past time. In the ‘70s and ‘ 80s guys still serenaded outside the ladiies’s windows( in the provinces)

The best Mori shine version is, behind the wisher SHINE wish 107.5, She has a different ending in the high note, normaly a F5, but in this version, I think a G5, but it's better, plus that beautiful smile all the way through, it was one of the first songs sung in her new home which was delayed because of covid.

For next Friday with Richard's mentor, if they're reacting to songs he and Johnny have reacted before and really liked, maybe Lea Salong'as audition/callback clip for Miss Saigon at age 17 (where she was sight-reading the song they were trying out with her) could be included. Video posted by Jamesmat Animation - it's just a couple of minutes long, would be very appreciated by a vocal coach, and at least she gets featured along with other Filipino singers being introduced to someone who's new to TGIFF. We're very proud of Ms. Salonga and even if someone's heard of her before, we want to make sure they are reminded that she's from the Philippines! Of course, they could do a full song/performance of hers, The Movie in My Mind, which she sang with Rachelle Ann Go, just say you're introducing him to Ms. Go. Who knows, maybe Richard would be moved to tears again, haha!
