E03. Charlotte Makes Podcast| Calypso sweater, Alice top, Sophie scarves and knit pattern ideas

DISCLAIMER! ~ I made a comment about the Calypso sweater and how the pattern calls for a significantly smaller needle size to do the ribbing. They did that originally because the original pattern uses a picot edge, which would account for the significantly smaller needle. I didn't want it to sound like I was faulting the pattern in anyway! I chose a different hem, and so as you will hear, had a little bit of difficulty with the fit and using the recommended needles in the pattern :D

I’ve been watching you and have to say that I appreciate that you’re also providing some critique of things you find (price/yarn). I sort of feel like many of the knitting podcasts are gushing over everything. While I recognize many of them are also at the same time ‘selling’ us. I really appreciate an honest opinion. I agree with your direction to use the green for a more simplistic design. That will leverage (celebrate) the subtle color variations you are now getting with the combined suri/variegated wool. For the test cabled sweater, where the architecture of the cables, with their increasing size, a more structured yarn would be more effective.

Hmmm Bainbridge island is great! They have two great yarn shops that I love there. Yea Cozy Yarn shop in Seattle is also amazing. For food I love Pikes Place and Kim Len Thai Night Bites for the yummiest Thai food in. Fremont :)
