Also the original Raider won entry level car of the year from RC car action magazine just to stoke the Raider fire!!! I have had several Raiders and the are fantastic runners! Nice buy and looking forward to seeing it in action 😉👍

that thing has to be old. It was my 2nd rc car. I had a grass hopper. I ran it in my first and only RC race at our regatta "town fair". I was known all over as the little kid whose car quit mid-race, I jumped down from stand and punted it lmao. The car took off and ran fine after that. Guy at the hobby shop talked my mom into buying me an intro-level buggy. Had to cut grass for a few weeks to buy the full bearing kit for it. Swapped out to a trinity motor didn't know I was buying basically the same motor. But I had the fastest car by far in the neighborhood. I lowered mine down, threw on a set of street tires and a Ferrari testerosa body off a really expensive model I had built. That rheostat speed controller lol. I may have to find me another just to go back to mid 80s!!!

Wasn't my first, but it was my first Kyosho. I also later had the Raider Pro ARR.

Well I’ve learned something new today 🤓. I didn’t know there was a turbo version 🤩👊🏻

TAMIYA Legends Unfortunately MCI doesn’t have the Raider ARR stickers on their website. I have reached out to Nathaneal about sending him original ones from a NIB kit that I have but he has yet to get back to me.

I love the colour scheme. Thankfully 80's flouro an dayglo has gone through the cheesy phase and come out the other side and is now appreciated for what it is. Is it garish and vulgar? Yes. Does it looking effing awesome? YESSS I've always wanted the truck version. Outlaw Raider but the ARR version. Also black with green wheels and garish graphics. It will be mine!

Very cool. I bought the Raider Pro 27 years ago and have just started a restoration. The drive shafts / dog bones on your car looks different than mine, what kind are those?

I hope Kyosho reissues the red version body 1 which was the one I had like 32 years ago. Very sturdy built car.

sigzor302620 I would love a reissue of this. More so the Turbo Raider. Thanks for the comment and support. Fingers crossed that Kyosho one day adds this to their legendary series.

harry dods No problem with that but I’d say there is a good chance you’d still win. However, I am looking forward to the Lunchbox Derby!

Why does it have 2 servos?
@RCRetro2 жыл бұрын
It has a mechanical speed control. One servo in the front to steer and the other servo is for the wiper arm of the mechanical speed controller that slides across. Most vintage kits came with a mechanic speed control and people would upgrade to an ESC (electronic speed control) which were more efficient and did not need a 2nd servo.

Weren’t you working on one of these? Never saw a part two.

The Restoration of Dr Who I got a NIB one that I never put together. I got this one (used) that I plan on running a few times before I eventually restore it to shelf queen status. Definitely want to run it a few times first. Thanks for the comment.
