Grooved tires. Madness
@t3hgirАй бұрын
"the cars are getting very quick and powerful, aerodynamic improvements happening race to race" "IDK let's put some GROOVE in the tyres???"
@SelzorАй бұрын
@@t3hgirthat was actually the reason why the grooved tyres were introduced, as time went on the cars started to have more and more grip as well as speed, and so for safety concerns it was mandated to have grooved tyres to reduce said grip and thus lowering speeds. It still was a really stupid decision though.
@t3hgirАй бұрын
@@Selzor but it was such a short-sighted decision by Max Moseley, even if the grooved tires allowed a bit more "overdriving" and thus the actual on-track battles and overtakes were exciting. The tires simply had less mechanical grip than slicks, which didn't exactly solve the issue of "the cars are getting more and more refined aerodynamically, and it's harder to follow close behind another car" SOLUTION? let's reduce mechanical grip artificially!!!

Schumacher will always be the GOAT for me, not just a superb driver but his ability to set up a car and develop it too. I mean, the fact he won so many championships with and for Ferrari certainly helped! Being a Ferrari fan just hasn't been the same since.
@BouncingCow10 күн бұрын
I think he was a superb driver as well, just not always THE fastest. I was able/fit enought to be focused the whole race, remain his situational awareness and was able to just switch from fast to quali mode to rain to adapt to car issues (e.g. just 5th gear) better than anyone i remember as well as being able to work with the team (except some team mates) and develop a vehicle. He was active for safety and supported some young drivers like Massa and Vettel. He was probably the fittest at the time and took the professionalism in F1 as a driver to anotehr level. Also I do not remember he actively spoke bad about his team when the were underperforming publicly, EVER. However, I disliked he was not able to admit faults. Him making the faults, I am a bit torn. What he did with Hill is debatable, because Prost/Senna did something similar for example and it was just like that. Personally, I think he has a demaged car and had to adjust to it within seconds without knowing what it is and Hill was very optimistic there. That switched in 1997 (for better or worse i leave open for debate) and I think Jerez was the start when F1 got stricter and worked more towards "clean" racing. Also I would argue, while he made questionable moves, all drivers do that and he did not really do it more often, he just had a long career and was always in the spotlight. If you look at Vettel or Hamilton, Senna, Piquet, Prost ... they all did questionable things on track, but somehow Schumacher gets the most critisism in my opinion. On pure pace, I would not rate him highest, but he for sure was up there in almost all categories and that made him the real deal and lifted F1 to a completely new level. Also remember where he came from (he was a pay driver for his first race, but that money was earned through his talent, not any family money), similar to Hamilton. I have mad respect for the risk and hard work they need for it. Also I think he got trained as a char mechanic; I am sure that helped as well.
@buckelharryfinn9 күн бұрын
Correct. And he was always focussed to win. If you see how Hamilton behaves after He got his new contract somewhere else. Michael is a legend, Hamilton only a good driver
@BouncingCow9 күн бұрын
@@buckelharryfinnI think 'only a good driver' is still a massive understatement (he still beat WC like rosberg, button, Alonso on the same material) imho, but I do agree that he seems to be less supportive of his team when things go wrong and critique them more publicly.
@buckelharryfinn9 күн бұрын
@@BouncingCow less supportive? He behaves like a princess sometimes. Michael was a teammanager, engineer, driver. Definitely not only a good and skilled driver. He was a legend, Hamilton is not, he only wins, if you give him a good setup and a good car.

Surprised you didn't mention the qualifying session in the build up to that lap time. It was honestly epic the Hakkien and Schumacher going hammer and tong at each other lap after lap. Mclaren and Ferrari going toe to toe like two titanic heavyweight boxers. Neither backing down. Each shot designed and thrown with the intention of knocking the other down and out. The emotion and celebrations of Ferrari and Michael knowing he's achieved the impossible dream that so many only get to dream about much less fail before him in winning in a Ferrari.

i would make the rear suspension a bit softer, brake bias more to the front so u dont lose the rear while breaking in a corner. and so u can go faster over bumps without losing it. Maybe raise ride height just a little. 13:50 especially this part costs a ton of time with such a deep and bumpy car. the curbs on this track are pretty agressive. adjust the front camber and toe to be a bit more reactive for more turn in. i will defenitely give it a try, u make it look like a lot of fun again!
