They could have overdubbed those lyrics onto the recording after that concert happened. I think that's actually what went down.

Not to be sappy but I have been a huge fan since I was in high school and this album is frankly such a dream come true. I scream-sung "I love you more than being 17" when I was 17 and now I get to scream sing ode to the mets at 23 and yeah life is cool thanks for the album

I know what you mean. I was in middle school when I started listening to them, and I will be 30 this year. Shits crazy how they are still one of the most important bands in my life, and they can still make me feel this way.

I'm really loving this, all awkwardness and clunky production included, adds a layer of sincerity to it. Honestly, they'd be perfect for a sitcom. All of them have their own fun quirks and jokes in a way. The quiet one, the straight one, the crazy one, the awkward and frightened one and then there's Julian which is a weird mix between the crazy and the straight one. Looks like he wants to kill Fab every once in a while.

2 years later, here I am crying because I just found this podcast. I remember the first time I heard The Strokes, it was in a car’s commercial in Brazil, the song was Someday. I felt some crazy connection even though I couldn’t understand the lyrics. Today I am 24, I speak fluent English and had the opportunity to watch them live for the first time last month. Because of the weather they ended up singing only about 5 songs, but still it was so special for me. I hope these guys never abandon music because they were born for that ❤ love them!
