love or hate the new album, but we can agree that The Voidz are one of the bands out there pushing music boundaries. I rather listen to their failures than to other's successes (and I'm not saying this album is a fail. I didn't like it as much as I liked Tyranny and Virtue after the first listening, but I'm aware that I need to listen to it again a couple of times more before judging). Also... I would love to see Julian performing his solo album live. It has been left aside and there's great stuff there

Julian must be the most underrated composer in music. Dude wrote all the lyrics and MUSIC of The Strokes. Any guitarrist learning Srokes songs ( Albert and Nick's parts) can appreaciate his genius. I feel like Julian has been the chef d’orchestre of the music industry for well over 20 years at this point, he’s always been leading the way making timeless songs, making music of the time while evolving himself. The Strokes became legendary but The Voidz is incredible following in the same footsteps of becoming a legendary band, and it’s all due to the fact that Julian renewed himself like a phoenix, i feel like it’s unseen. Not everything about the Voidz is top class but I have a playlist building up and i feel like it’s my favourite music at this point. I don’t know who else managed to stay that relevant for the past 20 years aside from Julian Casablancas who’s definitely not appreciated enough, at least in my eyes

As a huge voidz fan I’m not too crazy about the new album and I don’t think it’s anywhere near the level of their first two, but I gotta admit it’s grown on me. Fingers crossed they’ve got more better material on the way soon tho, russian coney island needs a studio version asap
