Also interesting to note...all the games are running in 720p. Not sure if that's gonna be a feature in the final product or not though. 1080p 60 fps would be pretty sweet.

just pointing something out the 3DS was supposed to be 169 at launch but reggie changed it because of preorder numbers so if he learned i would say the same or less then the wii

Resistive touchscreens also don't allow for multi-touch. I may or may not be wrong on this.

So wait. When someone buys this thing, you have the portable nintendo I-pad and a console so that you can play it on your TV. Was I seeing that right. What if you want tpo take the portable part with you? Where does the disc go then? Sounds interesting but risky on Nintendos part.

The double screen will be a problem. Thus making it less appealing than the Wii for the general market. I am not a fan of how the screen requires you to pick one to look at, the DS is totally different tince both lay in the same general area.

It's tough to say whether BLURAY disc is on its way out cuz streaming movies seem to only be in stereo...at least is the case with netflix and zune. I'm a pretty big audiophile so the dolby digital EX stream is important to me...as i'm sure it is for others. Also BLURAY for games is not so ideal right now because current generation BLURAY access speeds are crap. BLURAY ruins the texture streaming used in Rage. Digitalfoundry did a great analysis of that.

@jasamdomo yes they also used special discs in the gamecube and they still are paying for that mistake and yes i do now what the online would be like cus they said it no build in online system = every game better show up with flowers in one hand and build online in the other so i have resons to think that 3rd parties will be scared for working with the big N.

Nintendo always has to be the guy that's different. Even when they're not annoying third parties with their weird specs, they just have to put a touchscreen on the controller. I sure hope that isn't related to the massive success of the DS (something like 150 million units sold?), because I'm pretty sure that's not how reality works, Nintendo.

I was worried that they were going to charge $400 for this system (Reggie's talk about cost/ value in the post conference talk on GT), which is my price endpoint, so I hope your right about it being $300. Glad to hear that it could be as cheap as the ps3, and also that its at least as powerful.

I wonder if that controller will be capable of multitouch? I know that most devices with resistive touchscreens are not but there are some that support multitouch so it probably isn't an hardware limitation. My guess is that more and more "hardcore" gamers will be jumping to pc bandwagon during next-gen consoles because it is pretty much confirmed that all next gen consoles won't be as powerful as 360 and ps3 were at launch relative to gaming pc:s.

Nice hands on. I was however, surprised you didn't mention that the Wii U (in it's current iteration) only supports one controller per console. If this has since been debunked I would also like to no.

And no the online will not be like xbox live because xbox live is the budild in online component and like i sayed Wii U will not have that. Im not saying there wont be 3rd party support im just saying it takes more time and money to port games from ps3 to wii u.

its all lies from nintendo. There will be no 3 party support like at all. You think you will play modern warfare 3 on wii U? No no you wont wanna know why there will be no core online support this think does not have its own core online no Xbox live steam or PS network. No skeleton. And when you want your game to run on online mostly and be multi platform your not gonna work from scratch just so its on the wii U. And Wii U uses special discs and we all know what happened last time they did that.
