Thanks for all of your amazing support everyone. I’m not entirely certain how to feel about doing these Snarkathon sessions solo. It’s pretty exhausting, but with Jesse Cox already being at e3 and Dodger being on Dropped Frames for e3, I didn’t feel that I would have instant chemistry with anyone else right out of the gate. Next year, I promise I’ll do better. I’d also like to say thank you to everyone who has left a comment on this video. I’ve reopened the comments because I don’t believe in censorship. I believe the comment section is the most direct way for me to find out if you enjoy what it is that I’m doing. For anyone who might be upset in my using this channel for content as opposed to my own channel, I apologize. John made it very clear to me that he wanted his legacy to be carried on. The Sparta setting for a female character is actually very historically accurate and pretty genius as a setting for one. You only read the first line of the Wikipedia article, if you read on it would have said that Sparta was known for treating women and men almost identically through childhood (even went to school) and they were renowned for female independence. There weren't any laws or rules that women HAVE to get married, and they were trained in combat/physical exercise from a young age because they thought it would be good for the baby, make them strong. So something happens to make her a mercenary makes perfect sense. Though I doubt the NPCs will truly make as much of a deal as they should about her being female because of two protagonists. If it was historically accurate then Athenians would practically shun you, and Spartans would nicely ask why you aren't at home during the war. And it's been confirmed that theyre truly going away from historically accurate, what looks like a minotaur is teased at the end of one of the trailers. Full blown fantasy at this point, just grounded in a historical setting.

Mia Vaughn Yeah, the fact that she is a mercenary makes it more believable that she is a female warrior. After all, mercenaries don't need to follow the standard army rules. We also need to remember that these are the people that thought up the amazons. I didn't know about the fantasy setting, but that would explain the sheer amount of statues dotted around the landscape. No matter how much the greeks liked their statues, that seems just impractically pointless.

Regarding Starlink: Ubisoft have said that the toys are optional. The game comes with digital versions of the toys in the starter pack that can be used without the physical whatsits, and digital versions of the rest of the stuff can be acquired in-game. I have a bad feeling microtransactions will be involved, which sucks because the game looks quite fun.

The snark commentary is probably the only thing that can get me though an E3 presentation. Glad you're still doing this. Definitely could improve with a guest for duo commentary to avoid the problem of having to laugh at your own quips. John will be missed but this channel is a nice way to keep his good work in memory.

I actually learned that Spartan women, while not necessarily _trained_ to fight, were expected to be physically _capable_ of combat since they were the last line of defense if the Spartan army was defeated. So they were kept fit through acrobatics and such.

No Greek city state would let women be in their armies, they had to watch the house, raise the kids, and run businesses. In Sparta women were taught how to fight but where not aloud to be apart of the military. After all someone needs to defend home when the soldiers were away.

best part of the ubisoft conference must have been that moment at the 24 minute mark where we got some solid silence instead of just dance :P jokes aside the now walk-creed sounds fun, i hope it doesn't run like crap until the drm is gone again and the camera will be less wobbly this time. combat did look quite decent, but we will see once the reviews are out :P - never surrender never preorder
