Agreed! Awesome build and it is guaranteed to remove any trace of PTSD that comes from building a vintage Schumacher Cat. I had my original model from my childhood right next to the re-issue and it was very similar. I just wish they had option parts available!!!

haha yes way easier of a build versus a schumacher procat or XLS... I hope someone like RC mart offers spare parts for the yokomo dog fighter... rather than people parting out kits on ebay and asking top dollar.

I really like the paint job. It elevated this already great looking car.

I found regarding the different size hex screws that they are indeed very close in size with each other and in was a case if actually looking (something I never normally do) at the actual text not the pictures but it’s still was pretty difficult because some of them only have a 2mm difference😮 and the rear anti roll bar metal o rings are very challenging to say the least to slide on! But other than that it’s a stunning buggy to build😊

oh those anti roll bar metal O rings... the black ones... yeah I snapped one of those in half try to push the sway bar through.... the other one is on... but is loose and therefor doesn't stay in place. my roll bar just slides back and forth so I'll have to figure something out.. maybe clamps or something..

Wow, it looks great.👍 The metallic green really pops and goes well with the pink. Totally agree with your assessment - the quality of the buggy is great, but the instruction manual could be better! Look forward to seeing it run. I think the 19T motor will be plenty fast, as the simple drivetrain is very efficient with minimal power loss.

Glad you like it. Again, thanks for your help and reassurance with the steering blocks in the rear. I see RCmart has the brushed motor esprit RPM motor for sale now. Think i'm going to order one of those just for display in the buggy after I run the 19t....

It looks great Ari!! I like the look of yours way better than the box art. I did not get one of these both due to the price and I have no attachments to Yokomo at all. They were just not around here when I was growing up so it was just another race buggy in the magazines I could not even come close to affording back then! I am glad you got one and I look forward to seeing it run!

same thing for me with Schumacher and Yokomo but I figured I have to have at least one of their rereleases. Given I had a CAT XLS and sold it, I had to get a ProCat. Since this was Yokomo's first rerelease I figured I had to get it. I was more excited about the Optima Mid 87 Worlds (still haven't received it) that I almost cancelled my Yokomo pre order. Glad I din't cause as I built this I just fell more in love with it. Can't wait to get this out.

Agreed, best I've found in 4 years after 20 years away, hoping the new Yokomo brushed motor will be good to, otherwise I'll grab yet another BZ when discounted, The Tamiya super stock range is the closest I found to the quality we got back in the 80's/90's. Cheers.

I've heard nothing but good things about the tamiya BZ motors. I have used one a few times back in my Ultima rerelease. I now have it in my Tamiya DT-02 MS. Got it set up and ready for some spring track time.

@@RCRetro BZ is perfect for vintage buggies, I run mine in a Procat classic, both my BZ and TZ 23x2 (26k rpm) out perform my LRP 14x2 (31k rpm) in both torque and top end, I came across comments discussing the super stock range, I took advice and went up 3 teeth on the pinion from the recommended ratios, Procat lost no punch outta the tight stuff and gained another 5mph on the straight, closest I've found to old school modified motor performance.

Cool to see an older mid motor build. Do you think the belt system could handle brushless? Never really thought about it before.

I'll definitely take this into consideration. I was looking for something a little bit more uplifting, cinematic and inspirational. Often times, I watch my own videos over and over again while editing and sometimes its too soothing and I fall asleep lol.... but again thanks for the feedback and I'll take that into consideration.
