So does that tiny bit of play in the shaft mean the water pump is not working? My e36 isn't cooling down at all but the water pump only had a little bit of play when I pulled it out

Thanks for watching. It’s a possibility. Mine also had some noise coming from it.

I have the same waterpump and the pulley doesn't sit perfectly on it and I think its causing a wobble did you have this issue?

thanks for watching! I do not. Make sure its pushed in all the way. Its a bit difficult to get leverage since its a tight space.

Hy sir I have change the water pump n thermostat on my e36 328i, but it's still over heart what else it's cost to over heart pls help..

Thanks for watching. You could have a blown head gasket. I’d do a pressure test too to see if there’s any leaks. Also make sure you have enough of the correct fluids and all bubbles are bled out. Hope this helps!

@@stanleymoybien any good resource to understand bleeding the system? How do I know if it's all good? Thanks for this video btw

@@GrandpaJean I'm sure there are plenty of resources on youtube for bleeding an e36 chassis. The best way to explain it is to jack/ ramp up the front end as high as possible IOT have a high point for the bubbles and air pockets to get to. Turn the heat on when bleeding so the fluid fills all the channels. I highly recommend using a no spill coolant kit, makes the job 10x easier and makes the fill point high. If its good then there should be no bubbles, feel free to rev the engine, the levels should rise from the hot coolant expanding. Hope this helps

What is the name of the tool used to unscrew the fin nut?
@stanleymoybien Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. It’s a bmw fan clutch tool

You didn't change your thermostat too? May I suggest taping a large piece of cardboard one back of the radiator? I prevents accidental slips from damaging the fins on the radiator. BTW, good job - not easy making these kinds of videos.

Thanks for watching. Space was tight so I didn’t think of that. Thermostat is still good so I didn’t bother to change it out
