E36 BMW Rattle Noises

Make & Engine: '95 325is M50
Car has 2 distinct rattles that are only heard after warming up. I've heard of the VANOS issues but haven't heard about their dependence on RPM and engine temp.
The first rattle is a teeth chattering kind of sound and is only heard after warming up and when the engine is below ~1000 rpm.
The second is similar to the sound heard after wedging a soda can between the front tire and fork on a bicycle. I can't hear this sound when I'm actually driving but it also seems to be engine temperature dependent. (Can't hear it when engine is cold, can when engine is warm)
Any ideas? Much appreciated.

The bicycle sound is definitely the VANOS, the teeth chatter sound is a dying idler pulley. Ive had these exact noises before

First noise was due to a worn belt tensioner assembly. Second noise was a worn lower timing chain tensioner spring.

I have changed all timing chain elements with chain tensioner. Still have that second sound all of time when engine is cold.. After 5mins its silence. Lol

Japanese cars fanboys at work. No worse modern car than Toyota - in the past their "great reliability" was much of a hype either. Being on the tracks the worst and most prone to catastrophic failure engines have been Subaru and Nissan.

Yep. It was the timing chain tensioner.
