E36 Drivetrain Overhaul - Break In Update

With 200 miles on my newly overhauled M52 I performed an oil service to inspect the oil. I refilled with another 6.5 quarts of Amsoil SAE30 break-in oil. After another 325 miles I performed another oil service and decided to transition to BMW 5W-30 synthetic.
Pictures don't do the state of the oil justice. You have to see the shimmering in the oil to appreciate how much metal is present. I'm hoping that the next oil service, which I expect to perform in 500-700 miles, will indicate a significant reduction in wear metals.
