@@glenniemotorsport947 I didn't mean the work was easy lol. Just that most channels don't show you where every nut and bolt is like this guy does. Makes it so much easier.

Rattle can paint on the subframe? Or professionally done? I have seen these things powder coated and that's what I plan on doing. Need to mask off where the bushings go, so no Powder Coating gets in there.

@gareth88165 жыл бұрын
@@TreatsOnTheStreets Diff mounts from Revshift (green), I paired them with the red poly subframe mounts from AKG, that may have accelerated the wear though. The ear mounts would spin in place almost like they shrunk and the front diff mount was a tad ovaled and began to clunk, this is more likely because the bolt would loosen up so after repeatedly tightening the bolt the aluminum sleeve started to deform on the ends. I did do 1 autox season and I would drive enthusiastically rather often, normal M3 stuff, but when they were tight it was a blast!

Not sure if I missed anything in this video series but did you do subframe mounting reinforcement or just the reinforcement for the rear swaybar? I really wanted to see how you would prep for the mounting points. Edit: most 95+ M3 had the floor mount reinforced. It was just the mounting tabs for the swaybar that need it.
@TreatsOnTheStreets5 жыл бұрын
Since mine is a 99 and also an M3 I already had the reinforcement plates you're talking about. I believe in one of the videos I showed where they are and what they look like. If you are going to do your subframe bushings I 100% suggest doing those reinforcements if you do not have them. If you do not have them and the mounts have not already cracked, they will fail in time.
@E36andE46vlog5 жыл бұрын
Looks FRESH! Question: Doesn't your chassie above your subframe cracks earlier now, because the "rubbers" are a lot stiffer the OEM once? The advised me OEM+ once at the dealer (rubber once with buses around them), and Powerflex cind of buses only for the track. Whats your thinking wise about this?
@TreatsOnTheStreets5 жыл бұрын
Because it is an m3 it has the reinforcements. I've seen people run solid mounts on reinforced ones and never had a crack. Doesn't mean that it will never happen, just not very likely.
@E36andE46vlog5 жыл бұрын
@@TreatsOnTheStreets Ok, I didn't know that. To bad I don't have a M3, so no reinforcements. I drive my E46 some harder then the E36, but also no cracks, maybe I go try those buses to. I heard the most G force comes in at the corners, so if you dont do to crazy on that it should break. Are your new buses go longer then OEM once (to replace)?

Are you using the oem washers for the subframe busing?

I'm currently looking into getting an e36 (it doesn't have to be a M car). My only concern is how expensive is a bmw to maintain and repair compared to a honda or toyota. I have about 9k to get one and repair it.

Did the poly bushings make your ride noisy / harsh? I need to do this as well and I'm not sure about poly - maybe 85a . .

I did not notice any harshness from these but there is slightly more noise. If you are concerned then just go with the softer durometer poly.
