Great to hear. I have a 2000 M5 with 92,000 on it that I've inherited from my late father. You will love this car. It's like a living thing. Always warm it up properly before you lean on it--- get the OIL temperature up fully. You are lucky to have Ryan so close by. Having listened to all of his videos, you can tell he is sincere, intelligent, knowledgeable and trustworthy. You will have to put money into this car from time to time. There is no getting around it. But the enjoyment is well worth it.

Hi all, Kennan here! I drove this car from San Diego to LA and back a couple of months ago and it was phenomenal to drive. It made good power and tracked dead straight. It’s pretty clean, but it’s definitely a great candidate driver as opposed to a garage queen. It’s genuinely a good car and I hope it goes to a good home. If I didn’t already have a Titanium Silver M5, I’d consider buying it for myself.

Wow I like that silver e39 M5. Wish I could pick her up. I personally like Tiag. I can tell the door/window rubber seals have been conditioned. Too many ppl don’t do that. Makes the interior quieter too and makes the rubber pliable not hard and cracked. E39 has issues with rusting behind the gas door.

Very nice car and a great comprehensive overview! After reading some comments and your replies it could be the lighting but the front right fender looks "panel painted". I know you mentioned blending turns into painting the entire car but that's not true. Looks to me that the front right fender just needs blended into the door. Maybe the hood as well. Nothing more of an eye sore then a panel paint. Silver is not a color you can panel paint. That can easily be fixed if someone wanted it perfect. Very nice car though!

I had the car out in the sun yesterday for a cars and coffee and went out of my way trying to find a noticeable mismatch in the paint. After 10 minutes of staring from every angle, I can't see it. I hate to think my eyes are going bad. Where in the video is a paint mismatch so obvious?

17k? I was expecting something like 25, for sorted M5 feels like a good deal. One thing that you can see on the camera is painted front right fender, Ryan did not mention it because it probably is not so much visible in daylight with your own eyes.

If it had a clean California title, I would be asking $22,999. The fender and hood have been re-painted, and yes, the naked eye is significantly less sensitive to that compared to the camera.

The whole front end......fenders,hood,bumper and a pilars have been re sprayed, probably why it also has depo headlights. Look closely,Im sure you noticed. Please dont mislead people to think a car like this would be written off for a windshield lol!! Still...... looks like a nice car 👍

Depo lights? Where do you see Depo lights?! The front has been repainted indeed, and so has my car. Re-sprays are not signs of accidents... This M5 has an original bumper carrier, bumper carrier impact struts, and coolant expansion tank. These items surely would have been damaged in a front end accident.

E39Source My bad on the the depos. But really, all the parts you mentioned are original or original to the car. Look Im just stating that it has been re sprayed + salvage.... And the fact they didn’t blend in to the doors not something a competent shop would do. By the way I was really thrown off that you would Spend all that time explaining “full leather” and not throw it up on the hoist for a nice once over....... buy hey it got full leather package!!

@@illusive123 Thank you for the statement. Blending turns into painting the entire car. In person, this is quite a solid paint match. A good camera lens is much more sensitive to color and metallic flake match than our eyes are. If you are interested in this car, I would be very happy to give a full tour of the under-side. Please inform! Full leather is quite a rare thing to find in these sport cars and so few people understand the difference between complete and extended.

Have you taken compression and leakdown readings on this car? Do you have any prior service records (I’m a fluids change OCD)? Thanks and great video!

A sale is pending. If the vehicle is still available, I'll reach out and let you know. I did not test compression, as this engine pulls like an absolute freight train and sounds great. The CarFax lists a good bit of service that shows the car was cared for on a regular basis, but they don't specifically list fluid changes/mileages. I do know that the fluids I removed from this car were quite clean, however.

Do you have to worry about transmissions in these cars with 130k ? I’m looking at buying one of these this week and I’m willing to spend $20,000 or so on one and then put another 5 to 10,000 into it to get it dialed in. Does that seem reasonable?

The S6S420G 6-speed manual transmission is quite a stout gearbox, but it all comes down to how it has been driven and maintained throughout its life. I've seen them run over 700,000 miles without any more service than fluid changes, and I have also seen failure before 100,000 miles. A $20,000 E39 M5 will immediately need $5-10k to sort out the driveline, engine, and suspension. A total of $30k should be able to build a good example, but cosmetic repairs could easily exceed that budget depending on the quality vehicle selected.

i love the car, but i hate the interrior seats....my e39 has black highline leather and its the best....only better option for me is alcantara or individual brown leather, but those are very hard to find.

I truly think it was salvaged due to a broken windshield. When I got it, it had a fresh windshield installed, but broken glass on the floor and dash inside.

It just comes down to preference. I personally find the black to be a bit boring, I like the contrast of the Silverstone especially with a lighter exterior color and the Titan dash trim!

@@cynomyS So the title is the document that shows who owns the car, it has the VIN number, owner name and address, etc. Like the deed to a house. A salvage title means the car was deemed too expensive to repair due to damage by an insurance company. These days, insurance companies can do this to older cars like this for next to reason. A clean title indicates that this has never happened. But LOTS of clean title cars have been in accidents and been damaged before.
