Fantastic Coverage of the event, enjoyed every second of it. That was me at the MIP booth when Eustace was building driveshafts for my crawler! I very much like that you're designing and producing parts for lesser known & small companies to improve their products. It's challenging to get that point across, but if anyone has the reach and ability, its you! It was great to meet you and I can't wait to see what you do next year! Keep up the good work!

No way! Hahahaha! Now that I have made you famous, what will you do? I have always felt that there are cars out there (big and small) that get glossed over for the popular or newer versions. There are things that can make these obscure cars not only live again, but better than ever and I am here to help! It was a pleasure to have filmed you without your knowledge. hahaha!

Can MIP make a decent sand scorcher diff .cos the Tamiya hop up ball diff is garbage .my first one would not stay tight it kept coming loose even with copious amounts of loctite .tried them all red Blue and green .and the second one broke off the adjusting nut when running ..waste of time and money .for the money they cost they’re appalling quality
@AMPROEngineering

We have talked about it but there is no market for them. Tamiya stopped making them due to poor sales.

Regarding the High Lift steering. Trim off approx 2mm of the drive cups and make a notch in the casted steering limiter on the end of the axle housing for the steering arm to go past. The steering will be better. Make sure the half shaft pins is on the edge of the drive cup line, but not past. This prevents the the pin from breaking. The limited steering is due the pin on the half shaft has no space to turn more inside the driving cup. Hence why you need to grind down the drive cup to make it steer more. I have built and driven loads of TLT and HL axled rigs and it will do no harm. There used to be cvd axles available for these. Only place I know that still offers those is Getribedoktor in Germany. They currently got lead time. Not cheap at 95 Euros! I used to attend our Norcc (Norwegian Rock Crawler - that is no more) scale comps, I think my first one was in 07' The few who entered with High Lifts did poorly every time. To make it better many removed the orginal 3 speed, fitted a SCX10 or what it would become in 08' with the first SCX10. Same gearbox was found in AX10 Crawler. A few fitted Stampede transmission. Also removing the spring inside dampers and run soft RC4WD leaf springs with one of the main stock leafs did wonders with the ability to flex and get somewhere. But getting rid of that top heavy and ground hugging 3 speed is what transforms that chassis. I still have a few HL/TLT axles I will use for future scale builds ala old school 🙂 Nice to see you met my fellow countryman Chris 🙂

I have never even LOOKED at the axles. In fact, for some reason I have always thought it was fine until Chris said "WTF is with the steering!" I'll take a look at them soon. I plan to have a video where I fix everything that failed or broke on the event!

I LOVED the MIP 4x4 conversion kit for the RC10 back in the day. I never got to truly test it to it's limits before I sold the car but it was just such a well made conversion (again, back in the day).

The location with the front of that aircraft, Is owned by a man that has the largest collection of aircraft maintenance records. There was an episode of this information on the discovery channel. He also owns the salvage yard. That the “Black Eyes Pees” filmed a music video with robots dancing in a junkyard not too far from the location you found. right next to the El Mirage airport

I feel ya on the truck. My 05 reg cab Tacoma 5cyl barely pulls itself down the road. If there’s an incline or a headwind I’m shifting down and 70mph is no longer possible lol.

Haha! Yeah this truck chugs along well. It can go faster but with no ABS, morons all over the road and hauling the trailer, it is happy at 65.
