How do you think a stock F80 M3 would stack up with Pilot Sport 4S tyres. I can bring mine next time, just as a measure against these beautiful E46’s!

​​@@inwithsliminwithjim3416With equal drivers in dry conditions, there would be no contest (vs the supercharged car). Slicks are just that much better than any road tyre. I went up against an F80 M4 on slicks at Oulton and he couldn't keep up, but that was mainly due to track knowledge. I think the M4 is a more capable car with equal tyres and suspension setup though.

Power usually drops lap times much more when slicks are used since the power can be put down. It becomes a little more interesting on 300 treadwear tires

In my personal opinion, a supercharger on the track needs improved intercooler. Water-cooled ideally. Heat soak makes it difficult to monitor lap times based on driver improvements throughout the day Edit: I had an aftermarket supercharged exige running about 8-9psi and it would heatsoak a lot on the track. It felt like zero boost by the end of the day and lap times fell. My buddy with an elise and nicer BOE aftermarket water-cooled blower had consistent power.

I think the s54 should stay in its intended naturally aspirated forum of glory. But I think superchargers are cool if you don’t care about losing that na greatness, and don’t wanna spend the insane amount of money you have to spend to make sub 400 wheel hp on an s54.

The thing is the centrifugal superchargers for the S54 do keep the intended naturally aspirated form of glory, it just gives you much much more of it. It's linear, builds power as it revs, and boost is built as it revs so peak boost is at redline. You get an increase in torque, but it also comes on in a similar manner to the NA motor, just a bit more of it. It literally keeps the same characteristics, you just get a ton more.

@@I53-624 It only enhanced the sound on mine, you don’t lose anything on sound. I have an E36 M3 and after 9 years of ownership I went with a Rotrex kit. Drivability and throttle response is still stock like, and it still builds power in the same way, there’s just much more of it. It’s literally like an NA car on steroids.

To be honest I don't think it's worth 10k. But it's worth supercharging the M3. It's impressive for a 2000/2006 car to achieve 500+ hp. Iam supercharged too but there is a lot more involved than just putting in the supercharger kit.

@@MotorAddicts was a bit understeery, and lacked torque, you had to drive like a loon on the road to crank it sideways, people think they are easy to drift, with tall ratios and low torque, they are actually quite hard to get sideways unless friction is low, you have plenty of space to play, or you can run out second and third with a clear sight line

The supercharged engine is stock, running water/methanol injection, uprated radiator, and with everything refreshed: headgasket, rod bearings, vanos, timing chain guides, oil chain and tensioner etc.

They’re 333 hp stock, the CSL intake is good for 15hp and it’s probably got an ecu tune that is another 25.
