I follow a few sailing chanells on you tube, they are mostly couples on larger more comfy boats,but none compare to you for showing what real sailing is like (and doing all ALONE !! Its such a relief to know that when i am watching these episodes you are nice and safe (hopefully) in some port somewhere. I am aged 70 plus but old sailors never die, (they just make their own wind) Keep on chasing the dream Holly..

I always marvel at the feeling of the heat of the Sun. Especially when I'm not feeling well. To feel it warm my skin makes me feel better. To think that the heat is from an atomic reaction taking place 93 million miles away and I can still feel the warmth. It is always an amazing feeling. Yes, sometimes brings tears.

Wonderful!!! May I suggest something. On some off shore boat passges, anyone at the galley with water on the stove is required to wear a water proof apron. This is to insure that when the hot water spills, and it surely will one day, that person does not get severe burns. I want you SAFE!
@pearlyshells24304 жыл бұрын
yep solo with burns would not be cool.........never 'cooked' in shit conditions but thats another life.
@nealbirch94624 жыл бұрын
@@pearlyshells2430 ages ago (on a destroyer) we had rough seas, galley was midships so the pitches weren't too bad, but the port to starboard rolls were something else. You lurched down the food line fore to aft, at the end, there was a bit of athwart ship walk way, someone had fallen and spilled their breakfast, it was cleaned up, but the deck was slippery. I got my eggs, bacon and greasy potatoes (YUM), half filled my coffee mug and got to the end of the fore-aft part holding my tray and slid from port to starboard, doing a half pivot so I hit the soda machine stationed there with my back. Didn't spill a thing and got a round of applause from my shipmates, who were waiting for the next fall and spill. You get your amusements where you can at sea. The worse part of being in rough weather is/are those who get seasick, they can't stand watch, they're miserable, so it's hard not to pity them, but after a few days of standing 6 on, 6 off watches because you're short handed, you get a bit cranky as it's hard to sleep with the pitch and roll in our aft berthing. (I was the jerk who smoked cigars and ate sardines and crackers on watch, so it evened out.)

Since you don't have constant internet connection that enables regular postings, so you compile a number of these videos "in the past," it would be really helpful to start and end each episode with where you are.
