For o-rings I switched to air conditioning green o-rings, they work just as good and fit the same but have much higher heat tolerance and cold tolerance than the black o-rings. They last much much longer too, they don't wear out as fast.

@ichnafi85127 жыл бұрын
A german guy in a german backyard garage would do it that way. A young home gamer maybe, to impress his friends. Cleaning the coolers with brake cleaner and stuff just outside your garage…slap in the face of mother earth. No serious mechanic would ever do stuff like that. Installing all that with no proper fixation, no words. The wiring with that flimsy looking thing gave me goosebumps. So you have (in the worst case) 37.5% more power on a fuse-socket, designed for a 40A fuse…I see a burning E55 incoming. In Germany there is a Technical Control Board (i.e. TÜV, DEKRA) which have to approve such work to get the car street legal. The would have tears in their eyes and throw you off there site. Please less “quick and dirty” and more “safe and propper”. Cheers! (I hope I don’t offend any fanboy)

Nice job. Maybe you can add some PWM control for the pump, so you will have two speeds, based on temp delta. Should the temperature rise suddenly, then full power, otherwise keep it running slow. I am sure you can find something simple on the net that does the job.

@wantsomecoffe7 жыл бұрын

@rosewd27 жыл бұрын
Why not mount the coolant/ice tank in the trunk? That way it doesn't absorb heat from the engine compartment. You could run the line made of pee tubing right thru tgecpasenger compartment since they only contain water and antifreeze. And you get to retain the full cabin filter. Also you could keep a cooler with ice it it in the trunk or even put the whole unit inside a foam or plastic cooler. Ice would last longer too.

Where does the bottom hose on the tank go and where does the top hose on the take connect to
@aaronbritt20257 жыл бұрын
So what did you use in the tank? Personally, I'd use distilled water and a little surfactant, like Motul Mocool.
@LegitStreetCars7 жыл бұрын
Hey Aaron, So for now I just used water and there was some coolant left in the Intercooler so thats why it was kind of green. I will have the system open when I take the supercharger and Intercooler off so I didn't want to put anything other than water in there for now. But ya eventually I was thinking a little antifreeze so it doesn't freeze in the winter and maybe some water wetter or something like that. Alex
@aaronbritt20257 жыл бұрын
Oh, that's right... Here in Vegas, I sometimes forget it freezes in some parts of the country. ;) In that case, I'd go 70/30 water/coolant with Mocool or Water Wetter.

Pretty cool only thing I’m not a fan of is not using the stock wiring and plug to run it. That will prolly trigger a check engine or something since the ECU can’t control de pump/gets not signal back. I would’ve plugged the new pump onto the stock plug and let the ECU decide when to run it. Otherwise can’t wait to see the results. Hopefully you don’t live somewhere it gets cold in winter, it’ll take forever to heat up with that amount of flow haha! Thermostat will prolly stay closed.
@LegitStreetCars7 жыл бұрын
Its been wired like that for years and many do it that way. No lights on or codes. This system has nothing to do with the cars heating for the cabin or the engine. The t state has no clue whats going on in the intercooler circuit. Thanks for watching. Alex

I am a bit concerned with the add a fuse Idea. you are now adding more capacity to the single wire running to that fuse block and making it run more current than it was intended to run
@LegitStreetCars7 жыл бұрын
Hey Daniel. These types of circuits have been around for a while. Many people for years were just jamming a wire under a fuse and calling it a day. It pulls 8 amps so nothing too crazy. I will keep an eye on it for sure but its fused and its been on the car for a couple years running another pump. I will keep everyone posted if I have any issues but I dont see it being a problem. Alex
@danielchilinski21107 жыл бұрын
LegitStreetCars I know that they have been around for a long time but as an electrical engineer I still disagree with their use I know it is not a lot of current but now you have 2 circuits coming off of 1 feed wire and if both circuits over current you can get yourself into trouble. Just keep an eye on it and you should be good but the correct way to do it is run a brand new separate circuit for your needs not piggy back them
@LegitStreetCars7 жыл бұрын
I hear ya. I will keep an eye out and if need be Ill use a key on to trigger a relay connected to a major power source on its own fuse. Thanks for looking out. Alex
