|E79| Kotor Fortress and Hiking up to the Ladder of Kotor in Montenegro

Hiking up to St. John's Fortress above the old town of Kotor is an absolute must-do when you visit this place. We decided to go around the city and went up the 3 km switchbacks. Leaving in the morning was a great idea!
From the top, you have an incredible view across the Bay of Kotor and you can see the old town of Kotor way down below. We enjoyed breakfast at the fortress and explored every bit of the fortress before heading back down the stairs. The small village in the valley behind the fortress was very cool to see!

Thank you Terry for watching. We think it was around 2 hours, including a small break at the café cottage. We took it nice and slow, enjoying the view up along the switchbacks, we are sure you could coast up the trail in about an hour if you wanted to :)
