Alex, I know you hardly have any time what-so-ever to answer questions but maybe you have a quick recommendation for a spark plug for 13 Mustang GT NA, with full bolt ons on e85?
@matthewskaggs37926 жыл бұрын
I run the flex fuel cause our E85 is more like E60, if we had legit E85 then Id run the race tune but even still the car performers wayyyy better than with the 91 tune. I think it took me probably 1-2 tanks before the car had learned what it need to. The log procedures were super simple to do and I think Dakota made minor adjustments and Ive been rocking and rolling since, in any case Ive always had good results with Lund Racings customer service so if I ever have a question its just a simple email.
@ishowspeed-25 Жыл бұрын
Is the E85 worth it? I mean I know it will give you more power but I see it drains gas extremely fast. I’m about to tune my FK8 and I’m deciding if I should go with E85
@acokedupmonkey37626 жыл бұрын
Are you talking about Lund specifically or every flex fuel tune. Never have ran a strait e85 tune because like you said, flex is convenient. With that being said, the times I have filled up with 93 I run it pretty much empty before filling up on e85 and every single time it’s a night and day difference. 99% of the time I’m on e85 (tested to range from 75-82) from my race trac gas station. But my question is, would a strait e85 tune have any pros to it for always being on e85 from the pump?

You've sort of touched on this before, but I'm wondering as a tuner/in general, what is your opinion on Fuel Additives meant for increasing octane etc, i.e. Lucas Upper Cylinder & Injector Cleaner? I live in an area where 91 Octane is as high as you can get at gas stations, is it a waste of time to be using that stuff or is it worth it to 'keep the engine happier' in terms of fuel?

I live in California and use 10w 30 full synthetic Valvoline oil. I use to put 5w 20 motorcraft but I didn’t like that when I drained it one time it looked like diarrhea. Very watery and thin. Drove the car for approximately 15 miles with no sudden acceleration and the car drove fine shortly after I would accelerate hard and the car started to hesitate and lose power with a EPC light on the dash it feels like a miss fire. My truck runs wayyy better on E85 than it does on 93. E85 is typically 1.80-2.10 a gallon in my area, where as 93 is $3 a gal. I'm not sure why anyone in their right mind would choose to use 93 pump gas over flex fuel. It's not a convenience thing, it's cost snd performance thing.

Hmm this video is confusing. My Lund tuner told me that "sometimes" the cars like the Flex tune over the "R" tune. After 3 revisions my 93 tune made 433whp. After a few weeks I went back on Flex 85 and scheduled a dyno session to see if the Flex and R tune really made a difference. Flex made 443whp and 400tq which was expected. The R tune absolutely shit the bed and rolled around in it. Made 437whp. Same dyno.. Same day with idle and slow Rev learn between tunes. So. Needless to say I'm less than impressed with the R/dedicated e85 tune. The car had been through 3 tanks of e85 so it was 100% and tested to be exactly e85. I also have dyno and corresponding dyno logs to back up the data.
@YDBT4LIFE6 жыл бұрын
DVL_RJCT 550 if it wasnt logged and spark wasnt maximized then it won't perform. Now. Why didnt you try the e85 tune first then the flex... you tried 1 tune. Got the car hot. Flashed, tried another tune after it. Makes sense why it made slightly less. And also was it a true e85 fuel in the tank or a learned 70 ish% .. if so the e85 tune wont perform well unless it's good and tested e85.
@travis427svt6 жыл бұрын
Alejandro Flores The E85 has been consistently testing 85% since about April up here in Pennsylvania (atleast in our area). Both tunes were Logged and sent in. Was told the both looked good and were optimized. And as far as the dyno one before the other yes we did flex first and gave the car sufficient time between runs to cool down with multiple fans running and data from the logs showed coolant and inlet air temp to be very close to each other from run to run. In reality we were not expecting huge gains from flex to R but were surprised it didn't even come close. Any recommendations to get the R up to speed would be greatly appreciated.
@YDBT4LIFE6 жыл бұрын
DVL_RJCT 550 no just run the flex. No need to keep messing with it as flex with good logging will do fine. Most other ppl think it's a race tune.

Alejandro Flores yeah I figured I would hold off on anymore looging/revisions until after the cobra Jet/67mm/lu47/dmark cold air install the have a go at both the FF and R tunes again. Thanks for the info.

Thanks I had it all wrong , I'm getting an e85 and flex tune.

So it almost sounds like it's not worth going e85 unless you run a dedicated e85 tune. Flex fuel is convenient and you get the cooler temps from running e85 but you won't get nearly as much power from what you're saying.

THRILLSEEKER MOTORSPORTS a “N Gauge” is a product not software. You can put your HP Tuner “tune” on a Lund N Gauge that you buy.

Ryan McGauley incorrect. Lund ngauge has different firmware and wont take a hptuner file

Have a Lund FF tune and now waiting on the E85 race tune. I think it was assigned to Dekota. Literally just asked about the difference last week on Mustang6g. All my questions were answered though.

So only if you got aftermarket manifold on 15 and up mustangs you would need injectors not the air intake
