I would, it definitely makes the car feel alot newer and offers even better features then newer vehicles.

Have you tried any anti-glare film? I'm finding the glare on this unit is very bad. I've ordered a film but will take a few weeks to show up.

AVIN does sell an anti glare screen protector I have yet to install it.

3 QUESTION? 1. Did you have to add a USB SD card with more memory to get more apps and performance out of the unit? 2. Do you know if it is possible to connect a cellular sim card reader to the system to get cellular data access when you are away from home and not on your cellphone's hot spot? 3. How is the GPS navigation with APPs like Waze that can give you data about police ahead and warning etc.?

1. Nope unit has plenty of memory 2. The closest thing you can get is an OBD2 hotspot or a mobile hotspot, this device does not have for a sim card. 3. Navigation is flawless and all apps work perfectly while connected to internet, not so much offline. But thats the apps not the device.

HI- Two Questions: 1. Where you able to keep steering wheel control functions 2. Are you still able to maintain the original options from the main screen? For example, could you still still use the old navigation? Thanks!

Steering wheel controls work perfectly when changing volume and songs through bluetooth. You cant change songs through the steering wheel on car play. Yes You can switch back to the complete original navigation by holding the menu button under the scroll wheel for 3 seconds.

Hey I have the same year e90 my Bluetooth isn't working . Instead of changing the unit in can I think I would go in for this unit . It will pep things up . Thus this unit have a standalone Bluetooth . Does it have calling capability does Google assistant work on it . If yes how is the call quality . Pls share or post a video it would be great

This unit does have strandalone bluetooth and callin capability though I would reccomend the external microphone. Google assistant does not work. Call quality is good

Hey i have a question, if my CCC module is damaged ( in my BMW e90 325 i 2006) so basically no radio and my screen in blank, So will the unit work after installation ? it will run on Android right ? but won''t be able to switch back to the original navigation ?? Thanks!!

I cant say for sure because I havent dealt with this problem. I personally wouldnt take the chance if your factory system stopped working because it may inhibit proper functionality of the android system

This unit replaces just the screen, that means the CCC radio unit is still responsible for sound. What u can do is to put that android unit + replace your CCC radio with MASK (which comes with small screen) - its cheaper than CCC and wont die :) but u dont need to put small mask screen because u can put that android screen and it will work fine

Yes it will work. You can run music on factory side to maintain quality and use the android for features.

Can this be used with two mods I currently have? 1) CIC retrofit, so its using an emulation harness. 2) Bimmertech Multimedia Interface, which uses a passthrough LVDS cable.

It can work but this unit defeats the purpose of an upgrade if you already have all those things installed

I ended up buying one. The android system misbehaves when using the emulation harness, the idrive controller just starts clicking back randomly. So anything you open will close out. I ended up removing the multimedia interface because the android system does the video digitally instead of RCA for miracast. Keeping the MMI would offer 4 additional video inputs but it uses the same hotkey to switch to it as the android system does. I don't see myself missing it anyway. The screw holes don't line up at all so I haven't decided what to do about that yet.

What happens if u have a bad CCC unit, can the Android radio can be used as a replacement?

I dont see why not, as long as you are able to trigger its turn on through the menu button on the scroll wheel. The harness for this system is just spliced into the cars wiring so as long as it gets power and you can trigger turn on via the menu button youll be fine.

Recheck connection, has it gone away? make sure the cable I spoke about the green one is connected.

@@119Agent the oem CIC is a much smoother system than the CCC I replaced. I wouldn’t deem it necessary to replace the entire screen if you have CIC. The android unit was great but it did have some minor bugs you wouldn’t encounter with the MMI, then again it also had unlimited features. If you simply want car play MMI is perfect, if you want to have unlimited access to features than go for the android unit.

brandonsg123 in my personal opinion, with the unit I have in my car which has logic 7 the sound quality has not diminished. The ONLY thing I will say does happen with Bluetooth and car play for example is that max volume is not as loud as on the regular CCC but even then max volume on the car play will blow your ears out. As far as quality goes I have no complaints

Yes!! The aux cable that comes with the unit has to be plugged in the car aux port the sound is not really good to my liking so i used a Bluetooth adapter instead to get the original ccc which is way better and works with carplay also the only thing is that if you use carplay you can’t hear the messages and google maps or apple maps directons via Bluetooth which i didn’t care so much cause i didn’t use it to be honest but music and everything else is really good
