E92 M3 Gets a Clutch Pedal Upgrade - Ultimate Clutch Pedal - UCP

The OEM M3 clutch pedal, shoulder pin, and bushings are made of plastic which makes it feel flimsy. In this video I swap it out with the Ultimate Clutch Pedal which is made of metal.
Installation is very straight forward but not easy because of the tight space and limited lighting.
I'm going to test the pedal out and adjust the stiffness setting over the next few days. Stay tuned for the upcoming video on my thoughts!

Great video! This helped me tons when it came to installing my ucp. Did the same and removed the bigger spring and kept the inner spring. Such a night and day difference. Right after I installed it, the car would go into a fake “limp mode” where it basically won’t accelerate at the bottom of 1st or 2nd gear. Brought it to my local shop since I couldn’t figure it out. Turns out it was my brake light switch that some how came disconnected 🥲 Hopefully that helps anyone that encounters that issue

I think a clutch stop would be helpful. First find the release point. The best way I found to do that is to lift both rear tires off the floor (since you have a limited slip diff), then have another person try to spin the rear tire by hand while the car is in gear. Meanwhile, you open the driver's door, get on your knees and press the clutch pedal slowly with your hand. Hold the ruler from the floor to the medal and measure the distance from the floor to the pedal when your partner can finally spin the rear wheels freely by hand. This is a point of full clutch disengagement. Your pedal travel should be slightly below this point, but not much. Then you know how high you need to set your clutch stop. Second, generally most people like the clutch pedal to be higher than the brake. The reason is that clutch pedal travel further than the brake. As such, if your clutch pedal is below the brake, you will be constantly twisting your body to the left to press it, but this is a matter of personal choice/comfort.

If you’re talking about the e-clip, I probably got lucky lining it up. What I really struggled with was removing the plastic shoulder pin. That was a PITA!

I just installed the UCP and it’s great. My pedal actually sits slightly lower than the brake pedal, does yours? It seems like yours is dead even. I used inner spring only and tried both OEM and Sport holes and the pedal height was lower than the brake. I like it, but thought maybe something was wrong.

Mine also sits slightly lower than the brake pedal. It feels leveled when driving though.

they make clutch pedals plastic because in the event of a crash its less likely to chop your foot off

I went with the stiffest setting with the big center spring removed.

No squeaks initially but now do. Might apply some grease to get rid of it.

I was thinking to buy this pedal to fix the extreem squeaking noice that comes with the bad clutchpedal design on BMW, but I guess it’s still the use of plastic bits that cause the squeaking. Would love to see an update video about the squeaking and which parts you did lube to get rid off it.

@@ASSK555 UCP has a metal bushing. The squeak I have isn’t so bad. I’m guessing it’s the spring but will post a video when I get to it.

@@ASSK555 this is late but when my Z3’s clutch pedal was squeaking, I just sprayed some WD40 on the spring and it never made another sound.

@@SixSpeedSeven thanks for the reply. I tried everything, also wd40 and brembo brake grease. It didn’t helped. Two months back I traded my car in for a bmw with automatic transmission, so no squeaking pedals anymore.
