Using Advanced Defending last year really changed my game for the better. And the shoulder challenge definitely seems a lot more impactful this year. I wouldn't be surprised to see most non-pros switching from Tactical to Advanced in FC 25.

Its true, just gonna post this also in case anyone is wondering, I think it is really beneficial and is BETTER than TACTICAL, I still use tactical ofc cus when I am teaching its easier for people to copy, but people misunderstood me last year, for 90% of the player base it would make defending worse, because they need to know timing, yes they may get it right a few times but the key is it would cost them more. You really need to know how to defend, have the basics on lock and be very proficient, as long as you know how to time your tackles, and your defending is good, then advanced defending is a good option, its why I say mainly elite players, or maybe the very rare few odd people that may have good timing of defending. Most people unfortunately still struggle with the basics of defending.

Jst got the game and fixed all the settings including 144hz, 120 fps i guess, and still feels so slow. Advanced defending feels same as tactical, holding x there was a gap. Got surprise double check my defending, to make sure if its in advanced defending. Anyways jst realize, there's a glitch and i had to reset my controller keybinds cuz i was not able to player lock and move the goal keeper.

For the l1 switching I recommend using closet to ball because it’s much easier and your going to know which player it’s gonna switch next to

Mate, I was playing FUT champs and won my first game. Lost 4 in a row because it wasn’t doing what I wanted. Got frustrated and came across this video. Changed my settings and the gameplay is responsive now and getting wins. Thanks to your video. Keep the content coming. Keep the ‘waffle’ too lool. Ahh, thanks for the actually detailed explanation. Will definately be using ball relative. My eyes very much flick around and not smoothly track, so i lose track of the player im controlling when im going to switch player anyway. Probably why my right stick switching takes two inputs a lot.

Great stuff as always, Neal. But I believe the player switch sensitivity works a bit different than you describe here. Just like you, I initially thought "sensitivity" referred to the directional inputs. But later found out that it actually refers to how far you flick the right stick, to the distance of travel of the stick. For example, if you choose 1, you may have to push the stick hard to make a switch. If you choose 9, a slight flick of the stick is enough.

Make sure you have a good connection, a decent enough team, lock in, watch the goals you concede and dont do what made them happen in the future, also force attacks, this year is kinda yolo

Auto Switching for me needs to be on Manual, i can defend corners and press my opponent easier (You know when you have a player selected and then AI decides to change it for you at the last sec? With manual i'm in control).

Air Balls and Lose balls is like manual but not in the air, in the air mostly the game chooses the right player 99.99% of the time imho

To all EA fans, I have a problem. In EA24, Ps5 R3 button was used to flick up the ball. The same button does nothing, absolutely nothing in EA25. There is nothing wrong with gamepad, R3 is not broken, it is fully functional. Does anybody experience the same problem? Any fixes or suggestions? 🤕

I have always used adaptive because often times, I’d need to switched to a player on the far end of the pitch to reposition him or to anticipate an attack from my opponent. IT DOES NOT WORK ANYMORE and I’m not sure if anybody is experiencing this issue. The second def icon will appear to the player I’d like to select but the switch won’t actually go to that player. Works perfectly in 24 but not at all here. Any help from anyone

Downloaded the game on Friday and had all sorts of issues - so will try these settings. Not sure if there is something off with my controller (works fine on every other game) or and issue with the game download, but I have so much weird stuff happening. Simple changes in direction - play boots then ball away from them. I had the game player locking without me doing anything. Pressing pass and no response, the player just keeps dribbling or juggling the ball. Quick subs icon comes up to press R2…I press R2…nothing happens. Deleted and now re-downloading to see if that does anything. Has anyone else had these issues? This isn’t a skill issue, I’m a div2 rivals player and these are really basic things not working.

It is because this year as it seems you can not sprint straight away when receiving the ball, I had the same problem and tried to always take a touch first and the sprint (unless you have a lot of space infront of you)

Cant believe I am saying in 2024 but, if you see at the bottom of the video there is a little bar, where you can move it and skip forward in the video, you drag that along and you can skip ahead in the video, or you can press right on your arrow keys while watching to skip through that settings.
